## Crème de la Crème (Take Out) - August XX, 2024 This Kyoto-based cream puff specialty store, located on the 2nd floor of Roppongi Hills Hillside, is known for its delicious cream puffs. I purchased their most popular item: * **Custard Cream Puff with Mizuho Eggs @ ¥410 (tax included) x2** They offer a variety of cream puffs, making it hard to choose. I went with the most popular option. This cream puff features a custard cream with a strong yellow hue, as you can see from its appearance. *Note: The custard is made with 100% Cha no Tsuki and Mizuho eggs.* The custard is rich and dense, but not heavy. The sweetness is just right. The crispy, slightly toasted puff pastry complements the custard well. The pastry is generously coated with crushed almonds, adding a nutty aroma. It was as delicious as I expected, and the price was reasonable. Personally, I prefer the double cream with whipped cream, but the custard-only cream puff was also delicious. The Kyoto main store seems to have a wide variety of products, so I'd like to visit it on my next trip to Kyoto. Thank you for the delicious treat. Located in the Roppongi Hills, directly connected to the Roppongi Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and Toei Oedo Line, I was aiming for the cream puff shop near the base of the "Maman" spider sculpture and the lovely gelato shop next door. However, they had closed in mid-August, and since my mouth was craving something cold, I was drawn to the soft serve ice cream next door. It's a very small shop, and they seem to limit the number of customers inside to one at a time. I waited in line outside and ordered a cream puff with soft serve ice cream on top. They offer two free toppings, and they ask if anyone has an almond allergy before adding it. The soft serve ice cream on the cream puff is apparently exclusive to the Roppongi Hills store, a fantastic idea! It seems like the entire Hills is hosting a cold dessert fair. In conclusion, even for Roppongi Hills prices, the value is good, the soft serve ice cream is delicious, and the texture is fun. After eating the soft serve, the custard cream hidden underneath provides a double dose of deliciousness, making it feel like a good deal. They also hand you a spoon and a napkin at the beginning, which is a thoughtful touch. The only downside is that the cream puff dough is baked in a non-paper material, and the dough sticks completely to the cup, making it impossible to separate. It's a shame that you can't enjoy it all the way to the end. From an SDG perspective, it's not a good product to have edible parts that are inevitably discarded with every meal. It's a shame, but I hope they can create something delicious that doesn't involve throwing away edible parts in the future.

I visited around 2:30 PM on November 26, 2023. This is the shop that Wakui-san recommended on the TV show "RaviT!" on October 24, 2023, for their baton-shaped Mont Blanc pastry. The shop is small, only fitting about three people at a time. They provide a free two-hour cold pack. They also accept a wide range of barcode payments. While there's no eat-in space, there are chairs right next to a water feature where you can enjoy your pastry. The choux pastry is crispy and light, and the chestnut paste, whipped cream, and custard are not overly sweet, making it easy to devour. The chestnuts on top are also delicately sweet. They offer a variety of gift options, including choux pastry-based "shuquette" and "shucure," as well as langue de chat and madeleine cookies.

It seems that "Creme de la Creme," a specialty choux cream shop, opened its second location in Roppongi Hills on April 4, 2013. The first store is in Kyoto, and they opened this location in Roppongi to showcase the charm of choux cream as "Kyoto-born, Japanese sweets." This time, I tried the Mizuho custard choux cream, Creme de la Creme, and matcha petit choux. The custard cream was exquisite, with just the right amount of sweetness and a crispy, ultra-thin shell. The Creme de la Creme was a delight, with its delightful texture and the rich, smooth flavor of the cream spreading throughout my mouth.

I've never had a cream puff like this before! The thin, crispy pastry shell is filled with a generous amount of fluffy custard. I visited "Creme de la Creme Roppongi Hills", a 5-minute walk from Roppongi Station. It's located on the 2nd floor of the Hills. I arrived just after 11 am on a Saturday and there was no wait. I was able to check out right away. I purchased the signature "Creme de la Creme" for 464 yen. I enjoyed it immediately on the terrace in front of the store. When I lifted the cream puff, the custard seemed like it was going to spill out of the pastry shell. When I took a bite, the custard did indeed overflow. The crispy, incredibly fragrant, thin pastry shell and the generous, fluffy custard were a perfect match. It was incredibly delicious. I enjoyed it all the way to the end. The staff offered me a spoon, which I declined, but later realized why they did! I hope they will offer a new, bite-sized version!
