This is a yakitori restaurant with the best food. It's a famous place tucked away in the depths of Shibuya. Each skewer, made with four types of local chicken, is delicious. The fresh chicken liver, especially, was cooked lightly and had a rich flavor, making it the best dish. I was very satisfied with my stomach after eating seasonal summer vegetables like tomatoes and zucchini. The chicken ramen for the finale was light, but the chicken broth was rich and flavorful, good enough to stand on its own as a ramen shop. As other reviewers have mentioned, the portions are quite large, so you need to be prepared to eat a lot.
I finally made it to Tori Cha Taro, just a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. The restaurant has a unique atmosphere with about 10 seats at an L-shaped counter, making it easy to chat with others. Of course, the food was delicious, not just the meat but also the soup and Japanese dishes were incredibly tasty. The chicken thighs were so tender and juicy, it was pure bliss. Watching the next skewers being grilled right in front of me made it hard to resist ordering another drink. I definitely want to go back!
I was invited to Chataro, a place I hadn't been to in a while. It's truly an amazing restaurant. The taciturn but kind owner recommended a bottle of wine for the group, and we shared it while savoring each skewer served at a perfect pace. After two bottles of wine, we enjoyed some sake. The service, the way things were done, and the quality of the skewers were all undeniably good. With such a pleasant atmosphere, the conversation flowed easily, making the drinks even more enjoyable. This is what it means to have yakitori that makes you hungry while you're eating... I wish I could come here once a month (a wish). ◯坂-san, please! Reservations are quite difficult to get, but I highly recommend trying it out!
I recently visited "Tori Chataro," a popular yakitori restaurant located in Oku-Shibuya. Nestled in a residential area, a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station, this restaurant is a hidden gem. Upon entering, I was greeted by a lively counter and a bustling crowd. The course began promptly. I started with a selection of sake. The chicken sashimi, served with an abundance of condiments, was a delightful start. The smoked white liver was rich and flavorful, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The gizzards had a satisfyingly crunchy texture and were seasoned perfectly. I continued with a glass of Senkin sake. The Hinode chicken breast was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Next came the thigh meat, showcasing a variety of unique cuts. The duck breast gland was a delightful surprise. The sake flowed freely. The chicken tataki was refreshing, with a crisp onion adding a nice touch. The white liver was incredibly smooth and creamy. The chicken wings were perfect for savoring. The Aiko tomatoes were a welcome addition. The hand-stuffed chicken wings with rice were a unique and flavorful experience. The half-cooked quail eggs and the chicken meatballs were both delicious. The simple chicken ramen was the perfect ending to the meal. The clear broth was soothing to the stomach after all the sake. The smooth noodles were the perfect complement. Enjoying rare cuts of chicken and a variety of sake at a lively counter is a truly adult experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
I was finally able to get a reservation at the hard-to-book Tori-cha Taro. The freshness and flavor of the yakitori were among the best I've ever had, making for a truly wonderful experience. I definitely plan to visit again if I have the chance.
