## Highlights 1. **Addictive Sauce and Kimchi that Will Ruin You** 2. **Exclusive, Members-Only Yakiniku Restaurant by the Famous 'Niku-gatou' Group** **Budget:** ¥9,000 - ¥10,000 per person (Dinner) **Recommended Occasions:** With friends, acquaintances, colleagues, or for banquets. **Menu:** "Sin and Punishment Course" (¥9,700) * Includes all-you-can-drink * All-you-can-eat rice and kimchi **Summary:** 'Niku-gatou,' a renowned yakiniku specialty restaurant, opened its doors in Ningyocho in 2014 and quickly gained immense popularity. It has become a favorite among celebrities in the entertainment and sports industries. If you're a yakiniku enthusiast, you've likely heard of this establishment. However, in 2023, the main branch in Ningyocho abruptly transitioned to a membership-only system. The reason behind this change is this very restaurant, "Yakiniku Honnouen ~Sin and Punishment~". This restaurant embodies the spirit of traditional neighborhood yakiniku, with a concept centered around awakening your primal instincts for grilling. It features numerous elements designed to truly tantalize your appetite. The heart of this experience lies in the sauce and kimchi, meticulously developed over three years of trial and error. These are the sources of the addictive quality and the reason for the restaurant's sinful flavors. This concept has captivated many discerning gourmands, resulting in an astounding level of attention, with over ¥36 million raised through crowdfunding. The course includes all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat rice and kimchi, making it a transparent and straightforward pricing system. This reflects the restaurant's desire for guests to enjoy themselves without worrying about the bill. If you're fortunate enough to visit, forget about the punishment of self-restraint the next day and indulge in the sin to your heart's content.

【Tabelog Hundred Famous Restaurants】 Formerly known as "YakiniKu Akami Nikugakutoh Ningyocho Honten", "Honnouen - Tsumi to Batsu - By Nikugakutoh" has become a completely reservation-only establishment with a new name as of September 5, 2023. I had been eagerly eyeing the new membership slots, and finally, thanks to fate, I was able to visit. Their commitment to valuing their local community is truly commendable! I'm so glad I live in Ningyocho!! I made a reservation for a Sunday at 1 pm for my spouse and me. While they typically operate only in the evenings, it seems there was a special slot available during this time. From the moment I stepped inside, I was overwhelmed by the unique atmosphere, feeling a mix of excitement and exhilaration. The background music was consistently Shiina Ringo... or so I thought, but occasionally it switched to Aiko. The menu consists of a single, fixed-course option divided into two parts: the first half and the second half. A drink menu is placed on the table, with prices listed. But wait! The course price includes all-you-can-drink (Veuve Clicquot is separate). ● Fixed Course ¥9,790 First Half - A Chapter of Appetizers and Grilled Meat (Salt) - Appetizers Tomato Kimchi, Bean Sprout Namul, Komatsuna Namul Cannonball Jellyfish, Meat Sashimi (Senmai, Hachinosu, Hatsu) - Sukiyaki Wait, Sukiyaki at this point? I thought. But upon tasting it, the broth was so flavorful and refined that it didn't feel out of place as an appetizer. Apparently, it's meant to warm the stomach at the beginning of the meal. - Grilled Meat (Salt) Shintama, Shinshin, Tongue, Yan, Liver - Special Selection of Grilled Red Meat This was absolutely phenomenal. It was pure red meat with absolutely no fat, yet incredibly tender and bursting with flavor. The cut was apparently Kamanoko. - Palate Cleanser Momo Sherbet Second Half - A Chapter of Grilled Meat (Sauce), Kimchi, and Rice - Kimchi That Ruins You How does it ruin you? It makes you eat way too much rice. The balance of sourness and umami is exquisite. This is all-you-can-order. - Kamado-Cooked Rice Enjoying Kamado-cooked rice is a privilege reserved for those seated at the counter. They say each grain of rice is given a special cut to make it easier to soak up the sauce. This is also all-you-can-order. - Grilled Meat (Sauce) Special Selection of Rib Roast, Special Selection of Red Meat Roast, Special Selection of Sirloin, Thinly Sliced Meat Enjoy it with the same sauce that ruins you, just like the kimchi. The owner spent three years perfecting this ultimate sauce. The garlic is strong but not overpowering, and it truly goes perfectly with rice. - Lime Cold Noodles Enjoy it plain at first. Then add lime for a flavor change. - Ice Cream That Ruins You It looks original, but it's actually Häagen-Dazs. I ordered the Sinful Lemon Sour for my drink. You commit more sins with each refill. It's entertaining the first time, but if you go often, you might find yourself getting tired of squeezing the lemons yourself. The service was casual yet attentive and pleasant. They were quick to refill my glass, teacup, and kimchi plate, and they were generous in their compliments, saying things like, "Thank you for eating so much!" (Incidentally, he ate four bowls of rice, and I ate two.) My next reservation is in December, but of course, I've already made it. I'm looking forward to my next visit! ● Take-Out Kimchi ¥1,900 (excluding tax) Amazingly, they offer the "Kimchi That Ruins You" for purchase exclusively to those who dine in, so naturally, I bought some! The recommended ways to eat it are with pork kimchi, natto kimchi, pork soup, sanchu wraps, and spicy ramen, so the next day, he made pork kimchi for me, and we enjoyed it with natto, pork soup, and rice. It's addictively delicious, and the whole house smelled like kimchi for a full day. It's a sinful kimchi in every sense of the word. Thank you for reading all the way to the end. This invitation-only yakiniku restaurant is a secret gem! From the moment you enter, you're treated to an entertaining experience with a lot of creative touches. The course menu is well-designed, offering great value for money, and the way they serve the final cuts as a complimentary service really adds to the satisfaction. It's clear that a lot of thought went into creating this unique and enjoyable yakiniku experience.

I recently visited Honnouen, a restaurant that operates on a referral-only basis. When my reservation time arrived, a staff member opened the door for me. The staff's passion, friendly demeanor, and playful spirit combined to make this a favorite spot. The course is divided into two parts: ✓ The first part includes appetizers, sukiyaki, and salt. ✓ The second part features sauce, kimchi, and rice. The basic style is self-grilling (though the staff will occasionally grill for you, keeping an eye on your pace). The drinks are fairly standard, but there's a little surprise in store. The first part is enjoyed without rice, but the sukiyaki was absolutely delicious. I even tried the egg as recommended by the staff, and it was fantastic. The liver and tongue were also thick-cut and incredibly tasty. The second part features rib roast, loin, and sirloin, a succession of fatty cuts. However, they're thinly sliced like shabu-shabu meat, so you can quickly grill them and enjoy them with rice (and kimchi). The sauce was delicious, leaving a lingering flavor of the meat. It might be the first time I've felt hesitant to chew something because it was so good. By the way, both the kimchi and rice are refillable. The kimchi they sell is excellent, but the rice itself was surprisingly delicious. Personally, I think that's a huge plus. You can purchase kimchi separately to take home. It lasts for about a week. It's incredibly delicious. The spice and sourness are subtle, and I tried it with shabu-shabu and pork kimchi. It really enhances the flavor of the meat. It was also nice that they played Shiina Ringo's music throughout the meal. I was able to make a reservation for my next visit on the spot, and I'm truly looking forward to returning. It's a referral-only establishment, but I highly recommend it.
