I live nearby but haven't been here often. It was a hot summer day, and there wasn't a line before opening like usual, so I decided to try it for the first time. I ordered an unagi donburi (eel rice bowl), kimo yaki (grilled eel liver), and beer. You can choose between a regular or a large portion for the unagi donburi. I chose the regular, but I would recommend the large for men. The taste wasn't particularly special. It was simple in a good way. The kimo yaki was a good choice. The liver had a strong flavor, and I personally loved it. I would come back just for that. You can choose between Asahi or Sapporo for the beer. Overall, I felt it was a bit pricey, considering it's a tourist spot.

Edomae eel! I think this is the best Edomae eel in Tokyo. The eel inside is so tender! The surface isn't very crispy, but it's very delicious without any fishy smell. It's very popular and you'll have to wait in line. There are only a few seats, so only 6-7 groups can be seated at a time. Arriving 30 minutes before opening is probably the limit for being in the first group to enter.

I got lost and arrived just as the restaurant opened. There were about eight groups of customers ahead of me, so I couldn't get in on the first round and had to wait for a little over 40 minutes before being seated in a tatami room. The menu was simple, offering only grilled eel, eel on rice, white-grilled eel, and skewers of liver and head. The only difference was the amount of eel. The eel grilled over binchotan charcoal, whose crackling sound could be heard from outside, was absolutely delicious. The sauce was light, but as I ate, it became just the right balance. It's not easy to visit, but I definitely want to go back again if I have the chance.

The eel was delicious! It was grilled by a skilled, experienced proprietress. The atmosphere and aroma were fantastic. The rice portion was a bit small, but overall, it was a great experience.

The restaurant has limited seating, so I arrived 30 minutes before opening, but there were already over 10 people in line. I wasn't the first in line, so I had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. The interior decor remained unchanged, just like the old days. The eel was delicious and satisfying. The owner, a woman, was the one who grilled the eel at this restaurant.
