A casual izakaya directly run by a sake shop located in Nakamise-dori Street in Asakusa. The shop is divided into a sake sales area and a dining area, where you can enjoy a variety of sake and shochu by the glass. There's also a standing drinking space, so you can enjoy a 'kado-uchi' (corner drinking) experience. They have a selection of small snacks that go well with sake, and I especially recommend the "Totoro-ri Chicken Liver" (¥660). As the name suggests, it's a melt-in-your-mouth, tender liver cooked at a low temperature. A stylish establishment primarily focused on Japanese sake. They offer a wide selection of sake for retail as well. A must-visit for sake enthusiasts. Of course, they also have a diverse selection of other alcoholic beverages, including beer. While the food selection doesn't include many hearty options, everything is high-quality and stylish. Phone reservations are accepted.
A 'Kado-uchi' (a type of standing bar) called 'Sake no Oomasu' in Asakusa, Tokyo. It's a bar run by a sake shop, similar to a standing bar. It's located right in the heart of a tourist area, but it's part of the Meiroukai group, so the prices are reasonable. Since it's run by a sake shop, it's fun to be able to order different kinds of sake. Thank you for the delicious meal! 😋
Located near Asakusa Station and the Kaminarimon Gate, this is a drinking establishment attached to a sake shop. It has both counter and table seating. The selection of sake is extensive, as you'd expect from a sake shop. They even offer sake tasting sets. There are also some light snacks available, which go well with the drinks. You can enjoy drinks from noon on weekends.
The interior is chic and subdued. Although it was always full during my stay, the table arrangement allowed for a relaxing experience without feeling crowded. There was a wide selection of rare sake, making it hard to choose, but the option to sample a little of each was greatly appreciated. The beautifully presented appetizers were also delicious.
