I arrived shortly after opening on Saturday, but there was already a considerable crowd… Still, I was able to get in after about 30 minutes and ordered the breakfast set. I was seated on the second floor. The stairs are a bit steep ⚠️. The miso soup is a daily special, so you can't choose it, but I picked the spicy cod roe and cheese and plum onigiri from the five or so options. The miso soup was like a Western-style soup with tomatoes and mushrooms, a bit bland. The spicy cod roe and cheese onigiri was more delicious than the miso soup! It seemed like you could buy takeout separately from the line. It's quite far, so I can't go very often, but I want to go next time at a time other than morning.
I visited for breakfast. It's a shop that serves miso soup and rice balls! I arrived a little after 10:00 am, but there was already a line of several groups. ◆ Order Morning Menu - 770 yen The shop was packed with foreign tourists! Come to think of it, the line was too. We were the only Japanese people there. Maybe it's because you can enjoy Japanese food at a reasonable price. You could choose from six different kinds of rice balls. The miso soup changes daily. On this day, it was mustard greens, mushrooms, and green onions. It came with half a boiled egg and kombu seaweed. I thought one rice ball would be enough, but the miso soup was huge, so it was enough for me. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
I recently went near Asakusa, so I remembered MISOJYU and went for breakfast. There was a line of about 10 people, but I finally got in after waiting about 15 minutes. I ordered first and then sat down, but one person was seated on the first floor. I ordered a salmon onigiri and a huge pork stew. It took about 5 minutes... The miso soup had soft and large carrots and burdock root. The flavor was sweet due to the miso, and it felt a bit lukewarm. I would have preferred it to be hotter. One person was seated on the first floor, and they were served in order from one end to the other. The place I sat was just by chance, but there was a pillar on the right, making it very difficult to eat. Also, the seats on the first floor were right in front of the ordering counter, and people from the second floor were constantly passing by, making it very difficult to relax. I just wanted to eat quickly and leave. The onigiri, side dishes, and miso soup were delicious, but I wish they would improve the counter seating. Thank you for the meal.
The first floor has a row of solo seats, making it easy for solo diners to enter. It wasn't too crowded on a weekday, but most of the customers were from overseas. The staff, who were fluent in English, smoothly guided and served them. You order at the counter before being seated. The small onigiri are quite flashy, perhaps aiming for social media appeal. I had the spicy tuna, which was indeed spicy and delicious. The tea was also good, but unfortunately, refills weren't available. Payment could be made with various methods. The bowls are large, offering a satisfying meal.
The miso soup had a sweet flavor and was easy to drink. 🍙 It paired very well with the rice balls, making for a wonderful breakfast. I was a little disappointed that the miso soup was slightly cooler than I expected, perhaps due to the braised pork in the soup. 😢
