I was really looking forward to trying the tea course. I wanted to have a truly luxurious experience, so I chose the Gyokuro Two-Type Course for ¥8,800. (You can enjoy tea starting from around ¥2,000.) The tea room only has eight seats, so I understand why you can't get in without a reservation. About 80% of the customers seemed to be foreigners, and the staff spoke excellent English. They explained the tea and communicated wonderfully. First, they brewed two types of Gyokuro simultaneously. The first cup of Gyokuro, brewed with 40-degree water, was served. I tried my best to listen, but I couldn't understand which tea was which. I wasn't sure how to enjoy it. Both Gyokuro types had a deep bitterness. I love tea, but this bitterness didn't soothe me. I prefer a lingering sweetness rather than bitterness aftertaste. This was a Gyokuro I had never tasted before. The staff, dressed in white coats, carefully brewed the tea in front of me. The tea itself was wonderful, but the teaware was also a highlight. The next blend was a cold fruit tea with grapes (maybe Pione?). This was a surprise. It was a cold tea with grape flavor. (The fruit changes with the season.) They served the tea leaves with salt after the brewing was finished. My mother always eats tea leaves, so I wasn't surprised, but the salt they served was delicious. The staff changed at this point. For the Hojicha, you can choose your favorite based on the staff's explanation. They roast the tea right in front of you before you drink it, so you can enjoy the aroma. Finally, it was time for Matcha. You can also choose from four types of Japanese sweets. The tea course ended with hot water. You can enjoy the tea slowly, but I was still disappointed with the Gyokuro. For this price, I wish you could choose your preferred Gyokuro. I also think they should provide a menu. It's a quiet place, so it's hard to hear. (I don't have a hearing problem.)
We didn't make a reservation, so we just looked around. Reservations are required, and we couldn't have tea because we couldn't make a reservation.
Although surrounded by foreigners, you can enjoy a stylish tea experience. The aroma of freshly roasted hojicha, brewed right there, is something you won't find anywhere else.
A lovely space on the 5th floor of Spiral Building where you can enjoy delicious tea. Very popular with foreign tourists! Reservations are required as seating is limited. [Business hours] (Weekdays) 11:00-23:00 ※Last order 21:00 (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) 11:00-20:00
This place is so popular that you need to make a reservation to get a table. You also won't be able to stay for too long, so it might not be the best choice if you're looking to relax. They serve delicious tea, brewed right in front of you. It comes with traditional Japanese sweets. This time I ordered the seasonal blend tea for 1850 yen and the Gyokuro for 2250 yen. It's a nice space if you have time to relax, so it might be a good choice. This is one of my favorite places and I want to recommend it to my friends. ⭐️5 stars I only post 5-star reviews on Instagram. IG:taiwan_natural_you
