I was surprised to learn that I could use the museum without paying the entrance fee, so I visited on a Saturday in early July around noon. There were about four groups ahead of me, and I waited for about 15 minutes. I ordered the pasta course because I wanted to try the dessert as well. I chose the carbonara pasta, which was perfectly seasoned and very delicious. The chilled corn soup was also sweet and tasty. I ordered the tiramisu for dessert, but unfortunately, it wasn't to my liking. I might have been better off with the pasta set. The service was excellent, and the food arrived quickly, making for a stress-free experience. The view from the courtyard wasn't particularly impressive. It might be better during the season of fresh greenery. The clientele was diverse, ranging from individuals to couples, friends, and groups, suggesting that the venue is versatile and accessible to all.
This was my first visit since the restaurant's renovation. I went for lunch on a Friday. There was a 10-minute wait, but I was seated surprisingly quickly. I ordered the pasta course for ¥2,980, which included appetizers, soup, bread, dessert, and coffee. The appetizers, soup, and bread arrived promptly, which likely explains why I was seated so quickly. The appetizers were unremarkable, nothing particularly good or bad. The corn soup was cold and sweet, which I enjoyed. The pasta wasn't quite carbonara, and the dessert was tiramisu. I suspect it used mascarpone cheese, but the texture felt more like vegetable oil, which wasn't to my liking. Tiramisu itself isn't necessarily known for being incredibly delicious, so it's a tricky dessert. I don't think they need to force tiramisu into a pasta course. A more universally appealing dessert would be better. The coffee had a nice aroma and was delicious.
Visited in the evening. The roast beef set was delicious. From the window, I could see people walking around the exhibition area, admiring the sculptures. It was a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere.
It was an incredibly hot day. I tried to visit the exhibition in the evening, but the heat was so intense that I was exhausted beyond a joke… At that moment, I was able to get in and have a meal right away. It was a lifesaver… The seats facing the courtyard are popular.
After visiting the National Museum of Western Art on a date, we stopped by for a break. We only had drinks and dessert, but there was a set that included both for just ¥1100 per person, so we took advantage of it. It was a perfect price for a casual chat after viewing the museum, and I was impressed by the thoughtful set that met our needs. The dessert was a bit hard to compare to other places since I don't usually order it, but the Mont Blanc had a tart base that gave it a luxurious flavor. We had originally planned to go to the zoo in Ueno Park for a date, but we changed our plans because of the crowds and long wait times. We decided to visit the museum instead, and it turned out to be a great deal because the Western Art Museum is free on Sundays. We had a wonderful date for just ¥2200, and we were very satisfied with the outcome!
