We stopped by this bar in Asakusa around 5:30 PM on a weekend evening before dinner. There was only one other group of three people, so we were able to be seated right away. The bar had three tables for 3-4 people and four stools at the counter. However, those who drink at the counter are generally expected to stand. We sat at a table and enjoyed our drinks. The bar was run by two people. Like other Sanboa bars, it had a calm interior with a brown color scheme. More than half of the bottles on the back bar were whiskey. There was no background music, but for some reason, there was Latin music playing in the bathroom. We ordered the following drinks: * Vodka Tonic > It was a refreshing and delicious vodka tonic. * Mojito > They used a lot of mint, which made it quite bitter and sour at first. However, it became pleasantly sour in the middle and later parts of the drink. The bill came to a total of ¥3,960 for two people. I thought it was a good place to have a casual pre-dinner drink. Thank you for the meal.

I visited on a weekend evening. There were two other groups of customers already there. The counter is generally standing-only, but there are four chairs available, and you can sit if they're free. After 5 PM, customers started coming in one after another, and the place was almost full. I recommend the whiskey selection, and everything is served double by default. I enjoyed it very much.

Sanboa is one of the most renowned bar groups in Japan. It's remarkable that they have seven locations selected for the prestigious Tabelog's Top 100 Bars, a list that only includes 100 bars across the entire country. It's truly a testament to their excellence. I've had the pleasure of visiting two of their Ginza locations, and I found the atmosphere to be very casual and enjoyable. It's great that they allow smoking, and I was able to try their signature ice-free highball for the first time! It's a perfect spot for a night out in Asakusa. Thank you for the delicious meal! ▽--------------------------▽ ○Name: Asakusa Sanboa ○Tabelog Rating: 3.78 (as of June 2, 2024) ○6-minute walk from Asakusa Station ○Budget: ¥4,000 per person ○Address: 1-16-8 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo ○Hours: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM ※Closed on Wednesdays ※Credit cards accepted ※Smoking permitted △--------------------------△ 【Reservations】 Reservations accepted 【Recommended Occasions】 Coworkers, friends, couples, solo 【Crowd Level】 80% full at 7:30 PM on Sunday Only standing counter seats were available, but I was able to get in. 【Order】 ◆Gin & Tonic ◆Ice-free Highball

Some reviews mention the staff's attitude, but I found them to be more reserved. They were attentive and maintained a comfortable distance. I tried a highball without ice for the first time, and the smooth, consistent texture was incredibly delicious.
