A retro convenience store in a prime location in Ginza, known for its handmade goods. It's tucked away in a back alley, making it a bit hard to find. It's been featured on TV a few times, so I decided to check it out while passing by. The bento boxes definitely looked delicious. I tried their Y-Shop exclusive, moist melon bread for 200 yen. It was a delicious melon bread with moist cream inside 😋

Yamazaki Daily Store, located in a back alley on Gaslight Street, Ginza Line 3-chome. This Yamazaki Daily Store has been operating for a long time in Ginza, where convenience stores are scarce. It's more like a small supermarket than a convenience store, especially at night when it's closed. Due to the location, the small store, about 5 tsubo (about 16 square meters), is packed with newspapers and magazines, food, snacks, lunchboxes, and soft drinks. Since there are no other Yamazaki Daily Stores around, the selection is unique. The lunchboxes, sandwiches, and baked cakes have a handmade quality and packaging, more like a specialty product than a mass-produced item. *However, they are not original and are actually made by Yamazaki Baking Co., Ltd. The lunchboxes are also conveniently selected for nearby office workers and service staff who are short on time, with options like half-size portions.

This is a local, old-fashioned convenience store tucked away in a back alley behind a building, a place most people visiting Ginza wouldn't know about. The owner told me they've been in business for 45 years. The staff are veterans, so if you're looking for quick service, this might not be the place for you, but they do accept electronic payments, which is a plus. Despite its small size, the store carries a wide variety of items, including homemade onigiri, bento boxes, bread, sweets, ice cream, cigarettes, as well as sundries, newspapers, and magazines. They even have a microwave. Everything is delicious, but I highly recommend the white éclairs. It's hard to find from the street, but since there aren't many convenience stores in the area, it's a real lifesaver.

A Trip Back to Showa Era: Stepping just a little way off the main Ginza street, you'll find the charming, handmade Yamaki Daily Store. I went there for their bento boxes, but they were already sold out (T_T). I ended up getting an onigiri from the counter by the register. Definitely worth checking out! (^^)

This shop is located in a narrow back alley. I heard they have handmade sandwiches and other items, but most of them were sold out by around 6 pm... It seems to be a family-run business, and they have a rather relaxed atmosphere. It's interesting to see a place like this still existing in the heart of Ginza. It feels very Tokyo-like. I somehow thought the "cake scraps (ends)" were unique to this shop and bought some... (2021.05.10)
