Seasonal Sakura Scone I visited "Bakery & Sweets Lab" which is a 5-minute walk from Kiyosumi-shirakawa Station. I arrived around 12:00 pm on a Sunday and there was no wait. I was able to check out smoothly. I purchased a Sakura (Scone) for 280 yen. The scone had a nice cherry blossom aroma and a crispy texture. It was delicious. I enjoyed it until the very last bite.
A scone shop (they also have other things) that's only open on weekends. The thickness of these scones! I measured it and it was 4 centimeters. I've included a photo of the price list, but the plain scones are 180 yen. I should have bought more, I'll definitely go back soon. They're normally a frozen bread factory (Lab) and they sell some frozen bread, but the scones are only available here. They also carry Oshima milk, which is pasteurized at low temperatures. Cash only, so be careful! [Update] I went today and they had a display case. They also have an eat-in space on the second floor. Something to look forward to next time.
They have a variety of scones at reasonable prices. They also had Oshima milk, panna cotta, bread, and more. This time I bought four kinds of scones, and they were all moist and delicious. I will definitely buy them again when I'm in the neighborhood.
This scone shop, "Oshima Milk Scone," is located on the former site of "Noga-mi." I went there on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm, and almost everything was sold out. Only frozen scones were left. That was perfectly fine with me, so I bought some and warmed them up in the microwave at home. I think I microwaved them for a little too long, because they got really hot. Scones are usually round, so the square shape might be a bit unusual. I took a bite, and the milk flavor was incredible. The aroma filled my mouth, and it was simply delicious. My wife said she could taste the egg flavor. I recently tried the scones from "3 (san)," the shop next door that just renovated, and I preferred these ones. For this quality, 8 scones for 1080 yen is a great deal. The only downside is that they only accept cash. If they had cashless payment options, it would have been a five-star experience.
I bought two kinds of scones: plain and Earl Grey. This place is known for its milk, but unfortunately, they didn't have clotted cream. They did have small jars of jam for about 50 yen. I ate the scones without reheating them. The outside was crunchy and the inside was moist. They were reasonably priced and delicious. I would give them 5 stars if they sold clotted cream.
