I was wandering around looking for an early lunch a little after 10 am. Most places were packed with foreign tourists, but this coffee shop was relatively empty because it was tucked away a bit! The exterior has a cool, retro coffee shop vibe, and the interior is beautifully retro as well! It was still morning service time, so I ordered the morning set. It was around 750 or 800 yen, I think, and came with a thick, fluffy slice of freshly baked toast, two red sausages, a fried egg, and a salad all on one plate, plus a drink! It was simple but delicious and great value for money. I definitely want to go back again. ✨
I had the Napolitan! It was a classic, old-fashioned diner style Napolitan with chewy noodles that were perfectly coated in ketchup, offering a comforting taste. The dish was packed with ingredients like bell peppers and sausages, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. The retro atmosphere of the restaurant allowed for a relaxing lunch break. I highly recommend it for those looking for a place to rest during their Asakusa exploration.
Asakusa is a fun place to wander around, so I often find myself needing a break. This is a place you should know about for those times. The space extends far back and has many large tables, so it's spacious enough for groups of 5 or more. The menu has that classic, eclectic feel of a traditional Japanese coffee shop. I thought it was interesting that they had yakisoba. It was hot, so I got an iced coffee. It was thick and substantial, and very refreshing. I enjoyed it very much.
Located along Kannon-dori, this coffee shop opens early in the morning. I ordered the 'Wiener Coffee' for 680 yen. I was surprised when it arrived - it had a mountain of whipped cream! I did a double-take, haha. It might seem a bit intimidating to enter, but if you take the plunge, you'll be mesmerized by the beautiful stained glass windows. On weekdays during lunchtime, they offer a great value lunch set, and it's relatively empty, making it a hidden gem.
A charming retro-style cafe with a pleasant atmosphere. I arrived in the afternoon and was able to get a table right away. The cafe can accommodate about 10 groups of people, and features beautiful stained glass windows and a lovely Christmas tree. Smoking is not allowed inside, but there is an ashtray outside. Even the ashtray is a classic glass one, which I appreciate. Both the food and the cake were delicious. As it's a cafe, there were many people enjoying leisurely conversations. It's a truly wonderful place.
