Matsuto Fuda Menban (Matsuto Fuda Noodle Bond) is a popular ramen shop in Matsuto, Chiba Prefecture. I arrived at the shop at 11:18 am on a weekday and found a line of over 15 people. I expected to wait for about 30 minutes, but I was seated in less than 15 minutes. They seem to have an efficient system for managing the queue. The shop has 28 seats, with a stainless steel counter. I ordered the "Half-Boiled Egg Tsukemen (Dipping Noodles) Large" for ¥1,300. The noodles arrived within 3-4 minutes after I handed in my ticket. Just like the Matsuto main branch, the noodles looked, felt, and tasted more like udon than ramen. The noodles (udon) were thick and had a firm texture, which was delicious on its own. The soup was a rich katsuobushi (bonito) broth with a hint of yuzu (citrus) flavor and aroma. The thick noodles/udon went well with the broth. After finishing the noodles, I poured the soup into a bowl of dashi (Japanese broth) and yuzu to savor the aftertaste. It was great to be able to enjoy the same delicious tsukemen as the Matsuto main branch at a lower price and with less waiting time. Thank you for the meal.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a truly authentic tsukemen! I was starving, so I ordered a medium-sized bowl with all the toppings, and it was incredibly filling. The thick noodles were incredibly satisfying, making for a hearty and substantial meal. As for the taste, it was simply delicious - I would say this is the standard for what constitutes a truly good tsukemen. It's the perfect dish to eat before a journey or upon returning, to ground yourself and remind you of what truly matters.

If you're a fan, definitely give it a try (with rice!). But this time, I went for the classic. I don't remember if they had a special size before, but they do now, so I went for it. Even though it's a special size, it's only 450g, so it's a reasonable amount. I immediately dipped the noodles into the rich tonkotsu and seafood broth and slurped them up. This restaurant specializes in tsukemen (dipping noodles). After purchasing a ticket, you'll receive instructions from the staff. **Inside the Restaurant** The interior features stainless steel tables, and there are a decent number of seats, so I don't think customer turnover is bad. I ordered the "Special Tsukemen." The noodles are thick, and personally, I preferred them to the noodles at Rokurinsha in Tokyo Station. I've been wanting to visit Tomita for a while now, but it's been two years since I first thought about going there instead. I finally went when the timing was right! It's located in the basement of Marunouchi KITTE. There were less than 10 people in line, so I thought it was my chance and joined the queue. I bought a ticket and went for the classic tsukemen first. But I also wanted to try the char siu plate, even though I've been eating less lately. I first ate the noodles, which were thick and had a strong wheat flavor. The soup was packed with bonito flavor, so much so that if you dipped the noodles too much, the soup would be gone in one go. The noodles were delicious when dipped in the rich bonito soup. (Maybe the timing was off that day, but there might have been a slight burnt or bitter taste?)
