I was able to visit this soba noodle shop because it was open during a time I don't usually pass by! It's unusual to find a soba shop offering morning sets. This one came with a choice of cold or warm soba noodles and a tamago kake gohan (raw egg over rice) set. The tamago kake gohan was fantastic! Instead of soy sauce, it was topped with tempura sauce and tempura scraps, making it incredibly delicious. The soba noodles themselves were firm, but I felt the broth was a bit weak and couldn't stand up to the noodles. They also have other recommended tempura dishes, so I'm looking forward to trying them next time!

While looking for a quick bite to eat near the park, I stumbled upon this soba noodle shop, and it turned out to be a real gem. For soba lovers, they offer a fantastic 100% buckwheat soba (mori) for only ¥430, which is a steal. The soba arrived within a minute of ordering, cold and perfectly firm, with a great texture. The broth was also just right, not too sweet. I loved it so much that I would go there every day if it were closer.
The soba noodles were quite authentic and delicious. The tempura was also crispy and very tasty. The seating area is not very spacious and the chairs are not particularly comfortable. It's a self-service style where you buy a ticket and pick up your food, so it has a similar atmosphere to a typical station soba stand.
A cozy little soba noodle shop near Ueno Station, serving delicious food. I enjoyed a cold grated yam soba with five tempura pieces and a highball. The tempura was freshly fried and crispy, and the soba noodles were delicious. On another day, I had the same set with a glass of white wine (the cheapest one). It was sweet and had a rich texture. They serve the wine in a small wooden box, like a cold sake cup, filled to the brim. It has a very Japanese feel. There were many foreign tourists. After finishing our soba, my family and I started eating some roasted sweet potatoes we bought from a nearby shop, but a staff member sternly told us "No! No!" It was a bit sad for my kids. This place is convenient after enjoying art at the Ueno Bunka Kaikan or the museum.
