Butter Miso Chanko! Today, I visited "Kotoga Ume", a chanko nabe restaurant in Kinshicho. Their signature dish is the butter miso chanko nabe, and I thoroughly enjoyed its flavor. ◎ Good Points ● Chanko Nabe Flavor The butter miso chanko nabe has a unique and rich flavor! Fresh vegetables and seafood are generously used, and the dish is served after careful preparation. The exquisite harmony of miso and butter adds a unique deliciousness to the traditional chanko nabe. Especially, the homemade chicken dumplings have a light browning on the outside and are juicy on the inside, with the meat juice dissolving into the soup, adding even more flavor. ● Price and Satisfaction The chanko nabe is priced at ¥3,500 per person, which is a bit expensive, but considering the quality of the taste, I felt it was a reasonable price. The butter miso chanko nabe is a special dish that you can't find anywhere else, and I was more than satisfied with the value for money! ☆ Summary The butter miso chanko nabe at "Kotoga Ume" in Kinshicho has a deep and exquisite blend of flavors, providing a very high level of satisfaction. ※ Please note that smoking is allowed.
A chanko nabe restaurant run by former Sekiwake Kotoga Umeseki, who hails from Toyama Prefecture. I finally got the chance to visit after a long time. I had the crystal pot. This was my first time trying salt chanko, and the broth was flavorful, with the sweetness of the cabbage, the deliciousness of the chicken, and the savory taste of the meatballs. The bonito sashimi and the deep-fried innards were also delicious. The owner is from the same hometown as me, and we went to the same elementary and junior high schools. He is a year older than me, and we lived close to each other and have memories of playing together. I will definitely visit again.
I made a reservation and visited. As the name suggests, it's a restaurant owned by former Sekiwake Kotogaumi, who was a member of the Sadogatake stable. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats. The crystal pot and chicken meatballs were delicious. However, since it's a smoking-allowed restaurant, the smoke from the table next to me ruined the deliciousness of the chanko nabe. There are few restaurants where you can smoke while eating, so it might be good for smokers, but for non-smokers, it's considered secondhand smoke. The cigarette smoke was strong... I won't be visiting again.
This was my second visit on a weekday evening. It's been about five years since my last visit. I remember everything being delicious the last time, and it was just as good this time! I ordered the seasonal "Cold Chanko" for my final dish, and it was more like cold noodles with a chanko flavor than actual chanko. But it was surprisingly good! I really enjoyed it. Chef, I'll be back again soon. See you at Miyato.
