A sweet potato shop right in front of Ueno Station! You can enjoy delicious, fluffy baked sweet potatoes from Ibaraki Prefecture. The sweetness is just right! I was able to try a variety that wasn't too sticky, which is my preference. It's close to the station, incredibly delicious, and very affordable - the best sweet potato shop! The staff member was also very cute. 😊
I was drawn in by the words "Supreme Baked Sweet Potato" and bought one. It was a variety called "Benimasari" which I had never heard of before. I wonder if it's not widely distributed, because it was definitely prettier than the ones you find in supermarkets. You often see "Beniharuka", right? 😊 While the taste, sweetness, and texture weren't particularly "supreme", I found the size to be easy to eat, the honey flavor just right, and the crispy skin unique. At 432 yen, it's more than double the usual price, so it might be good for an occasional treat or a gift, but for everyday eating, a supermarket baked sweet potato would do. That said, it was delicious and had a nice texture, so I definitely recommend trying it once! 🌟
I stumbled upon a sweet potato dessert shop in Ueno, and I couldn't resist trying it! 🍠 I ordered the Beni-masari sundae and Beni-masari maple butter. 🧈 The Beni-masari sundae featured a crispy, caramelized baked sweet potato that was absolutely delicious! ‼️ The combination of the caramelized sweet potato and the slightly sweet, cold soft serve ice cream was a perfect match, creating a delightful contrast in flavors. ✨ The baked sweet potato was fluffy and soft, and the maple butter was the perfect complement, enhancing the flavors. ⤴️ The saltiness of the butter brought out the natural sweetness of the sweet potato, while the maple syrup added another layer of sweetness, creating a complex and delicious flavor profile.❣️ Sweet potatoes are healthy, so I could indulge without feeling guilty. 👌 I'll definitely be looking for this sweet potato dessert shop again! 😊
Ueno Park, beneath the statue of Saigo Takamori While casually passing by, I noticed a sweet potato vendor (🍠) in the back of the Sakura Terrace on the first floor, so I decided to take a peek. I thought, "I might as well buy a little bit," and bought some to go. I ate it right away in the car. It was incredibly sweet and incredibly delicious!! I should have bought more! 😩 It completely changed my concept of sweet potatoes. What I ate today was: ☆ "Kyujo Yakiimo "Benyuukan" (Supreme Baked Sweet Potato "Benyuukan") ¥400 ☆ Limited-time offer "Maple Butter" ¥500 This was a sweet potato (🍠) worth more than its price. I'll definitely go back to buy more.
I bought some baked sweet potatoes, the 'Beni Masari' variety. I've tried a few different kinds of baked sweet potatoes, and this 'Beni Masari' is unlike the 'Annatsuimo,' 'Beni Haruka,' 'Silky Sweet,' or 'Beni Tenshi.' It's not overly sweet, it's fluffy, and it's delicious. (It's worth trying at least once.)
