It's a standing bar. I was happy to see a bottle of water on the table! The scallop tartare, figs, pike conger, and yellowtail shabu-shabu were all delicious! The sake selection was also impressive, with a wide variety from Fukushima. The staff were friendly and welcoming, even to newcomers like us, despite the bar seeming to be popular with regulars. It was a pleasant experience!
My friend, a sake enthusiast, and I went to "Nagi," a popular standing-style izakaya in Shibuya. They have about 40 different types of sake, all from Fukushima Prefecture. It was great to see familiar names like Sharaku and Hiroki, as well as many new sake varieties I'd never encountered before. You can enjoy a casual experience at this standing-style bar. ▽--------------------------▽ ○Name: Nagi ○Tabelog Rating: 3.52 (as of September 21, 2024) ○8-minute walk from Shibuya Station ○Budget: ¥4,000 per person ○Address: 1F, Shibuya Myokenya Building, 2-20-7 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo ○Business Hours: 5:00 PM - 12:00 AM ※Closed: Sundays and Public Holidays ※Cash Only △--------------------------△ 【Reservations】 Not available 【Recommended Usage】 Coworkers, friends 【Crowdedness】 Visited on Thursday at 10:00 PM, 90% full. Even though I knew it was a standing bar, I still wanted to sit down (laughs). It's a truly amazing place. The fact that you can refill your chaser yourself is a great touch! It's a sake bar, but the draft beer was of high quality. Of course, the sake was delicious too. The pickled vegetables and sashimi were delicious, but the summer vegetable tempura was the best. I want to go back before summer ends! (laughs) Location-wise, it's in the love hotel district of Dogenzaka, but recently, there have been more restaurants in the area, so once you've been there once, it's not scary at all.
A place that primarily serves Japanese sake. The menu is extensive, offering both light snacks to accompany the drinks and more substantial meals. They have a counter with pet bottles of water, so you can easily pour yourself a chaser without having to ask. Most of the customers at the counter are solo diners, so it's a great place to go for a solo drink without feeling awkward. It's probably better to go with one or two people rather than a large group. It's usually crowded, but if you want to be sure of getting a table, it's best to go early after they open.
We visited on a weekday evening around 8 pm with two people. The restaurant offers standing-only seating, with options for the terrace, counter, or high tables. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, but the restaurant was full, so we ended up at a terrace table. We ordered the following: * Whitefish, oyster, and monkfish liver three-way ponzu platter - ¥1,300 * Yellowtail sashimi - ¥900 * Lemon sour - ¥600 * Sake This restaurant specializes in sake from Fukushima, and each table is equipped with a 2-liter bottle of water for use as a chaser. The menu features a wide variety of dishes that pair well with sake, including sashimi. Sake is served in 100ml glasses, and there are many options to choose from. We asked for the staff's recommendations, and the waitress was very helpful and explained everything in detail. This is a great place for sake lovers! Thank you for the delicious meal!
