As expected from 'Funawa'! I had the sweet potato soft serve, and for ¥400, the rich sweet potato and honey whipped cream flavors were so satisfying. I'm definitely going to try other items here! 💕
This is a directly-managed store of Funawa, famous for Japanese sweets like Anko-dama (sweet bean paste balls) and Imo-youkan (sweet potato jelly). It is the third store to open on Nakamise-dori (the main street of the temple). It is located next to the first store and across from the second store. Although it is located next to the first store, they may appear to be the same store, but the degree of deterioration of the store name logo on the top of the store is different. They also sell soft cream.
This was given to me in 2020.
Soft serve ice cream at Nakamise in February 2024. Purchased from a vending machine and enjoyed on the spot.
The sweet potato soft serve ice cream was quite delicious. However, it was very crowded. If you're not set on visiting Nakamise, there's a Funawa on Shin Nakamise-dori, which might be less crowded and a better option.
