Located near the Mizu no Tenjin-mae Station on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, specifically Exit 8, this shop might appear to be a wagashi (Japanese confectionery) specialty store based on its name and location. However, it also offers Western-style cakes and baked goods. While wagashi make up the majority of their offerings, their signature items are shio senbei (salted rice crackers) and dorayaki (azuki bean filled pancakes). Other treats include monaka (mochi wafers), seasonal wagashi, ayu (sweetfish) confectionery with kyuhi (glutinous rice flour), and manju (bun-shaped pastries). They also carry Kusaka senbei (rice crackers from Kusaka), which seem to be a takeout item.

While primarily a Japanese confectionery shop, they also carry Western sweets. They have a wide selection and pack everything carefully. I highly recommend their cream puffs, which are filled with generous amounts of fresh cream and are absolutely delicious.

A perfect souvenir for both Tokyo residents and those from other prefectures 💕 The value pack is only available at the main store ☺️ Salt crackers are the best 💯 Since I had a suitcase, they kindly offered me a table. As expected of a long-established store, their hospitality is top-notch. The subtle touch was lovely ✨️ Thank you for your kind consideration 🙏

Salt Crackers (23 pieces) ¥1250 Komainu Dora-yaki ¥250 Mont Blanc Dora-yaki ¥250 I went to buy some souvenirs for my family visit. I saw on TV that a big-name actor buys these for his staff, so I thought the taste must be good, and I chose them as souvenirs even though I hadn't tried them myself (laughs). I went there after lunch without thinking because it was a weekday, but the store was packed! Furthermore, the salt crackers I wanted, the 10-piece pack, were sold out (tears). I had no choice but to buy a few boxes of the 23-piece pack. I also bought some salt crackers for myself, a Mont Blanc Dora-yaki, and a Komainu Dora-yaki, which is only available on the day of the dog (Inu no Hi). The salt crackers have a perfect balance of salt and soy sauce. The first bite is strongly salty, but I prefer it to bland crackers. The crackers themselves are thin and crispy, with a slightly toasted flavor, and they're not heavy at all, so I end up eating several at once (laughs). The Dora-yaki have a moist dough and beautifully even browning. The Komainu Dora-yaki with red bean paste was delicious, but the Mont Blanc Dora-yaki with rum was even better than I expected! The rum flavor was strong, and it was a mix of Japanese and Western flavors, a completely new taste! It was so delicious. This store seems like it's mainly for Japanese sweets, but it also has a lot of cakes, and it has interesting mixed Japanese and Western sweets like the Mont Blanc Dora-yaki and peanut dumplings, which you won't find anywhere else. Suiten-gu Shrine, famous for its prayers for safe childbirth, is nearby. They say that pregnant women come to the shrine on the 12th day of each lunar month, which is called "Inu no Hi," to pray for a safe delivery and celebrate their pregnancy. That's probably why the store was so crowded even though it was a weekday. The Inu no Hi limited edition products at Mihara-do are popular not only with people who visit Suiten-gu Shrine, but also as gifts for pregnant women.

I stopped by in October 2024 to buy some souvenirs. Both the dorayaki and the senbei were delicious. They let me browse without rushing me, which was very kind. I highly recommend the hojicha manju.
