Kotetsu, a popular Japanese restaurant in the En Group, is located near Otemachi, a bustling area known for its business district. On a Saturday at 1:30 PM, the window seats offering views of the bullet trains and local lines require reservations. Reservations are only available if you order the lunch set, which costs 3,500 yen per person. This policy is likely in place to manage the influx of families, ensuring the restaurant can provide adequate service. One notable concern was the lack of a children's menu, despite the restaurant's apparent popularity among families. This absence, coupled with the haphazard arrangement of strollers at the entrance, suggests a deliberate choice to cater primarily to adults. The restaurant's transformation into a more sophisticated establishment at night, offering views of Tokyo Station's historic architecture, further reinforces this impression. The staff's indifferent attitude towards children, mirroring their treatment of adults, adds to this perception. The small tables, likely designed to maximize window seating, are cramped by the large serving trays. Considering these factors, it might be more appropriate for the restaurant to explicitly discourage families. The only redeeming quality is its convenient location. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

I had lunch here. This was my second visit! Since it was a weekday, there were a lot of businessmen, as expected. For Marunouchi prices, it's not too expensive and I think it's good. As expected, Japanese people really love Japanese food! I'll definitely come back again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

A Japanese restaurant where you can watch trains. A must-visit for train enthusiasts. Visited during oyster season. The location is great. The staff seemed busy. It was difficult to order drinks.

Located on the 5th floor of Oazo, connected to the Maruzen bookstore. The interior is upscale and the atmosphere is very nice. If you arrive right after the 11:00 am opening, you can get in without a reservation and without waiting. After 12:00 pm, it will be difficult to get in without a reservation. The tempura set meal includes two pieces each of bamboo shoots, burdock, horse mackerel, green onions, and mountain vegetables, and it's quite filling. If the price were a bit more reasonable, it would be a 5-star rating.
