The popular "stretchy cheese curry bread" from Kamakura is now available in Asakusa! You can find it on the Okusan Omairimachi Street, which stretches from the left side of the Sensō-ji Temple. They fry it frequently, so you have a high chance of getting a freshly fried one, which is a welcome bonus from a specialty shop! The curry, with its spicy kick, is perfectly paired with the chewy dough, and the cheese stretches out beautifully, making it truly delicious! It's perfect for a light lunch or after a sweet treat walk. On weekdays at lunchtime, you can purchase it smoothly without any lines. There is a standing eat-in space available.

Asakusa Food Tour - Curry Bread - While walking around Asakusa, I came across several curry bread shops. I was curious, so I decided to try one! Curry Bread - ¥450 The cheese was so gooey and stretchy! It melted beautifully. They use 30 different spices, but the curry itself wasn't spicy at all, so even kids could enjoy it. They only accept cash. You can eat your food in the space next to the register, but there are no chairs or tables.

I went to the Okuyama Omairimachi Shopping Street after seeing a news video on YouTube about Ciratta's mozzarella cheese curry bread. This street is a retro shopping street that continues from the Sensō-ji Temple grounds and is famous for the 24 shutter paintings of "Kabuki-e" created by Kenji Tanaka of Lettuce, so I recognized it immediately.

Giraffa, a curry bread specialty store that sells a remarkable 2,100 curry breads a day, has now opened in Asakusa! I've been wanting to try their stretchy cheese curry bread for a while, so I finally went. The store is located five doors down from Imo Pippi, famous for their sweet potato ice cream. There's a stand-up eating space in the back, and I saw some Imo Pippi customers enjoying their treats there. The freshly fried curry bread had a perfect crispy texture. The bread, with a hint of milk flavor, was filled with a generous amount of their special curry made with 30 different spices. The umami, sweetness, sourness, and richness of the curry were perfectly balanced, and then the melted cheese just flowed out, making it absolutely delicious. It's a flavor that everyone will love, so be sure to check it out when you visit Asakusa!
