A quick drink before hopping on the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station. I finally made it to Calbee Plus, a place I've been wanting to try for a while. You can buy limited edition Calbee products here, but today I went for the piping hot Potato Salad (¥370) and a draft beer (¥570). It was a hot day, so the beer hit the spot. Of course, the potato salad paired perfectly with it. I wish the eat-in corner was a bit bigger though...
I tried the churros. Calbee's churros are made with potatoes, so they have a chewy texture. The cinnamon flavor was delicious. However, the flow of the store is not good. It's hard to find where to pick up your order. After you hand in your food ticket, you have to go back to the line to get your order. They should make it so you can just go forward (without going back) and pick up your order at the end.
I went around 4 PM on a weekday. There is a space to eat right next to the store, but there are few chairs and it's not very spacious, so it's not a place to eat slowly and relax. However, they cook in the kitchen inside the store, so you can enjoy freshly made sweets! They were piping hot, fluffy, and crispy, and they were delicious!!
It's great to be able to enjoy freshly made potato chips. I also bought various flavors of Jagariko as souvenirs, and they even sell merchandise, which is great. There are a few seats and tables, and I was lucky enough to get a seat. The BIG Poteliko was crispy and delicious. The sweetness of the Shiawase Bata (Happy Butter) was also delightful. I'd love to eat it again if I have the chance!
Potelico? What is that (・・?) People were eating something that looked delicious, like beer and potato chips! It seems they fry potato chips on the spot, I saw it on TV! ∑(゚Д゚) I bought Potelico salad! I had it at the small eat-in area next to it! It was piping hot! Thank you for the delicious meal!
