This standing udon shop offers incredible value for money. Everything on the menu is delicious, but I highly recommend their cold udon dishes. Oniyanma has locations in Nihonbashi, Shibuya, and Gotanda, making it a great option for anyone looking for a tasty udon experience in Tokyo.
★Foodie Lawyer's Food Diary★ 【Instagram】joy_sound 【Tabelog】_Chrome_ ーーーーーーーーーーーーー Reliable Oniyanma!!! Visited Oniyanma in Ningyocho. It's listed in Tabelog's Top 100 Udon Restaurants. It's a standing udon shop with locations all over Tokyo. I ordered the Tori Ten Udon with an Ebi Ten topping. Yes, this is perfect. Thank you for the meal! ーーーーーーーーーーーー Likes, saves, and comments are encouraging!!
I've known about this place for a long time, but I always avoided it because the standing-style seemed cheap and low-quality. I finally decided to try it out and was surprised by how delicious it was! The udon had a nice texture, and the aburaage in the kitsune udon was thick and flavorful. The chicken tempura is also highly recommended.
I visited during a time when it wasn't crowded for lunch. I ordered the chicken tempura and chikuwa tempura udon. There were only two other customers in the store, so it wasn't crowded. Perhaps because I came during a less busy time, the udon was a bit chewy, likely because it had been sitting for a while. That was a bit disappointing. The chicken tempura also had some tough, stringy parts, which was another disappointment. Overall, the udon and tempura were just okay.
April 2024 (Weekday, 2:15 PM, no wait) Tori-ten Udon (Regular) ¥520 This is a standing udon noodle shop with several locations in Tokyo (the main branch is in Gotanda). The broth is light in color but packed with flavor, a characteristic of Western-style udon broth. The noodles have a delightful combination of fluffiness and chewiness, truly showcasing the quality of Sanuki udon. The tori-ten (chicken tempura) is generously sized, piping hot, and the chicken inside is incredibly tender. Ordering the tori-ten is a must-do at this place! The staff member was a foreigner, perhaps of Middle Eastern descent, and they were incredibly efficient and energetic! It was a pleasure to watch them work. There are individual portions of tempura scraps, ginger, chili pepper, and soy sauce available for each customer. The space is spacious and bright for a standing noodle shop, and there are hooks under the counter for hanging bags. This makes it a great place for first-time standing noodle eaters or solo female diners. I will definitely be returning! ♡
