A restaurant in Fukagawa, Tokyo. 『Fukagawa-juku Honten』 This is a restaurant where you can eat Fukagawa rice. It was packed on a weekend afternoon, with people waiting outside. I ordered the classic dishes and waited while enjoying some sake. It was quite nice to have some grilled clams as a snack. The food that came out was visually appealing and delicious. Thank you for the meal 😋

It's quite small, so you might be seated with other guests. The food is delicious, and even the sweet kuzumochi with its cute salt yokan garnish is tasty. The menu features both Edo-era fisherman's meals and Meiji-era carpenter's meals, and the sets that include both are quite substantial.

The food was absolutely delicious. We were able to walk right in because of the bad weather. The staff was very kind, even giving us a tourist map of the Kiyosumi Shirakawa area. The dessert included kuzu kiri (arrowroot jelly), making it a very filling meal.

The restaurant's interior has a calming, traditional Japanese atmosphere. I ordered the classic Tatsumi-style dish. The Fukagawa-meshi and miso soup rice both had a slightly spicy flavor. However, the soup and light pickles balanced out the spiciness, making for a good combination. The Japanese-style dessert was also light and sweet, leaving a refreshing aftertaste.

It's okay, I guess. You can feel the Edo atmosphere. It's good that there are fewer lines because the price range is higher than that of nearby competitors.
