I enjoyed a coffee at a cafe called "Kohaku-tei" on the 1st floor of the Konwa Building in Tsukiji 1-chome on a weekday afternoon around 2 pm. This cafe used to be located near Wako in Ginza 4-chome. It was one of the filming locations for the 44th installment of the "Tora-san" movie series, "A Man's Life is Hard", where Gokumi and Manzo were filmed in this cafe. It seems the cafe moved to its current location about 10 years ago. I was hoping to find some trace of the filming from back then, but there was nothing. However, the tables and chairs might be the same ones from the old location. The cafe is surrounded by large windows, making it bright and airy. The ceiling is high, and there are plenty of green plants and paintings. Classical music, such as piano concertos, plays quietly in the background. The space between the tables is generous, making it a great place to relax and unwind. Near the entrance, there are various magazines like the Nikkei Shimbun and Shukan Shincho, which is a nice touch for a coffee shop. You can read them freely. On this particular day, it was the day after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, so the Nikkei Shimbun had big headlines about the news, which I found interesting. However, it's important to note that the cafe is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and on weekdays, it's only open from 9 am to 4 pm for the time being. When I sat down in a seat at the back, I was soon served a cold, wet towel and a glass of water. I looked at the menu and saw that they had a Brazilian coffee for 600 yen, usually 650 yen, so I ordered that. The Brazilian coffee is a blend of carefully selected beans from 20 farms with direct contracts, chosen for their maturity. It's described as having a sweet caramel aroma, nutty and chocolate-like flavors, a rich aroma, light acidity, and a smooth bitterness. It sounds amazing! Indeed, I could taste the chocolate-like flavor and the very light acidity, truly a remarkable taste. The cup was beautiful, made by Noritake, of course. The coffee at Kohaku-tei is roasted with care using a German roasting machine, considered the best in the world. They prioritize taste and aroma, and they use beans from various origins, carefully selected for their quality and grade, to bring out the unique characteristics of each bean. It's truly impressive! They also seem to specialize in tea, blends, and herbal teas. Kohaku-tei is a bright and beautiful cafe with plenty of greenery. It's a great place to relax and enjoy delicious coffee and other beverages while listening to classical music. I highly recommend it! It was also great that they had free Wi-Fi.
This is a coffee shop located in a corner of the first floor of a building. They make delicious coffee and light meals. There are both counter seats and table seats, and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend it.
I went to a coffee shop. There were so many types of coffee that I didn't know what to order, so I asked the staff for recommendations. In the end, I enjoyed a delicious coffee served in a beautiful cup! The shop was empty, so I was able to work leisurely. They only accept cash payments.
I went to this cafe for breakfast before going to the Shinbashi Enbujo (Kabuki theater) because it had good reviews on Google. It's located on the first floor of an office building, but the building's name is prominently displayed, so I wasn't sure if this was the right place until I got to the front. It made me a little uneasy. The morning menu is available until 10:30 am and there are three options to choose from. The sandwich was delicious, with soft bread and only two slices, but it was still satisfying. The coffee was average. The atmosphere of the cafe is relaxed, but the service from the two middle-aged staff members, a man and a woman, was not very good. Also, in this day and age, I don't want to put my bag on the floor, but there were no baskets to put it in. Furthermore, they only accept cash, so be careful if you're relying on cashless payment and don't have your wallet with you!
You can enjoy a relaxing lunch here. The coffee is also delicious!
