A Retro Coffee Shop in Kinshicho: "Tommy" This retro shop has a perfect old-school vibe. The wall-mounted menu also had a great Showa era feel. The hotcakes were pretty standard, but the coffee shop had a comforting and gentle atmosphere that calmed my soul.
I decided to take a quick lunch break during my work-from-home day and visited this popular cafe known for its delicious hotcakes cooked on a griddle. The cafe has a nostalgic, local coffee shop vibe that's cozy and relaxing. I ordered the "Sanburg" from the lunch menu, a name I wasn't familiar with, and a lemon juice. After a while, what arrived was a hotcake sandwich, essentially two hotcakes with ham and lettuce in between. It's meant to be eaten like a hamburger, held in both hands and taken in big bites! The hotcakes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfectly sweet and a great match for the ham and lettuce. Salt was provided to add to taste, but the natural sweetness was perfect so I didn't need it. It was much more filling than I expected. I intended it to be a light meal, but after finishing one, I was already full and satisfied. The complimentary ice cream served after ordering both food and a drink was a nice touch.
A well-known local coffee shop famous for its handmade hotcakes. I entered at 3:00 PM on Thursday. (There was one other group of customers.) 90-minute time limit. *Noted on the bill. ▶︎What I ordered ▫︎Blend Coffee ¥550 ▫︎Homemade Hotcakes ¥710 ◎Coffee Light to medium roast. Clean and refreshing taste. ◎Hotcakes Slightly sweet even without anything else. The sweetness isn't overpowering, so you don't get tired of it even towards the end. You can enjoy them perfectly with just butter and honey. The outside is crispy, while the inside is moist. ________________________ Two pancakes are enough to fill you up. The ice cream after the meal is a nice touch. The shop is located on a quiet street a little away from the bustling downtown area, where you can enjoy a peaceful and leisurely time. Thank you for the delicious meal.
It's a short walk from the north exit of Kinshicho Station. It's a coffee shop with delicious hotcakes. The hotcakes are stacked two high and called "burgs." They have the standard hotcakes, as well as ones with tuna or cheese in between. If you order a hotcake and a drink, you'll get a small ice cream at the end. They ask for your cooperation with a 90-minute time limit.
I visited [Place Name] after a long time, but there was a sign saying "Closed for a while." I hope it's not due to someone's illness... I'll come back again. Update: I visited again after two weeks, and the shop was open. They are now open only on weekdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 90-minute time limit. I ordered the homemade hotcakes and a blend of coffee again. The hotcakes cooked on a copper plate were as delicious as always. However, the master wasn't there. Two women, possibly his daughters, were running the shop. There was a picture of the master on the counter, so I wonder... but I'll refrain from speculating as it would make me sad. I'll come back for more hotcakes. Thank you for the delicious meal.
