A renowned establishment in Ginza, serving delicious French regional cuisine and homemade bread! Bistro Nougat, born on a backstreet in Ginza's 6th district in January 2008, will capture your heart with its over 60 varieties of regional French dishes and daily-baked homemade bread. With a wine list curated from its sister establishment, Wine Bar Chinois, boasting 300 selections and over 20 wines by the glass, this is a truly exceptional restaurant, ranked among the top 5,000 on Tabelog. The name Nougat is said to be taken from the song "Le Nougat" by Wasaburo, a chansonnier born in Kyoto and residing in France.
This restaurant offers delicious French cuisine at reasonable prices. The portions are generous, from appetizers to dessert. The menu is extensive and changes frequently, making me eager to return for another visit. The second floor boasts a high ceiling and an open layout, creating a unique and charming atmosphere. It's conveniently located just a three-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station on the Tokyo Metro. Reservations are essential.
This unique restaurant offers a delightful selection of bistro dishes from various regions of France. It's like a culinary adventure where you can sample a variety of French specialties, similar to experiencing a diverse range of Japanese dishes like Genghis Khan, Sanuki udon, hitsumabushi, takoyaki, and mizutaki all in one place. The interior and ambiance are charming and inviting. It seems like many patrons enjoy sharing dishes and drinks with small groups. Reservations are highly recommended as this is a popular spot. On this occasion, our group of four chose two dishes each and shared them. The portions were generous, and many of the dishes were perfect for enjoying with bread, leaving us quite full. Everything was delicious, but I particularly enjoyed the gratin dauphinois and the couscous salad. One point to note is that the bouillabaisse, while authentic in its overall style, had a slight twist. This is undoubtedly a deliberate choice by the restaurant, but it might not be ideal for purists. Specifically, it includes mussels, squid, and other ingredients. The soup is smooth and refined, and it comes with aioli sauce, making it a delicious dish. If you're not too concerned about strict bouillabaisse traditions, I highly recommend it. I'm eager to return and try other dishes on the menu.
I had been curious about this place because I heard it was delicious! This time, I went with 4 friends. We had: * Appetizers - Egg and mayonnaise with carrot salad - Ayu (sweetfish) pie - Recommended fresh fish (warm dish) - 2 kinds of bread and butter The butter was delicious. * Main courses - Lamb with ham - Halibut with cream sauce - Dessert assortment - Crème brûlée The Ayu pie was the most impressive and delicious. I was surprised by the wide selection of wines. I was happy to try a wine I had never had before.
Bistro "Nugat" in Ginza offers over 60 regional French dishes from across the country, along with a curated wine selection from its sister restaurant, the French and wine bar "Chinois." A highlight is their signature "Okukubi Tamago Herb Omelette." The restaurant's wide range of dishes means that seasonal specialties are always featured on the blackboard menu. In the past, the wintertime ptarmigan was a particular treat. The charcuterie platter is also excellent. ★4.0
