**VOLPUTAS: A Hidden Gem in Tokyo Station's Gran Roof** Tokyo Station's Yaesu Exit boasts a Gran Roof, a spacious, airy area with several restaurants. It's a hidden gem, often overlooked by travelers rushing through the station. The reason for its relative quiet? The escalator access means people in a hurry don't realize the bustling area above. Plus, during the day, tired tourists often sit on the stairs, making the second floor seem crowded. But don't worry! It's actually a great spot, with plenty of space and a fantastic restaurant called VOLPUTAS. VOLPUTAS offers the best of both Italian and Spanish cuisine, serving delicious pasta and paella. A full course meal costs only ¥3,980, and a paella course with all-you-can-drink comes in at ¥7,600, making it an affordable option for salarymen and office workers. In fact, I saw many groups of colleagues enjoying themselves over drinks and food. With frequent summer showers, the restaurant's location directly above the station is perfect for taking shelter from the rain. You can enjoy your meal with a view of the weather outside, or stay late for drinks and conversation. If you're a regular at Yaesu, give VOLPUTAS a call and make a reservation for a spontaneous dinner. #VOLPUTAS #GranRoof #TokyoStation #YaesuExit #Italian #Spanish

I visited the restaurant at 7:30 PM on a weekday. Three of us ladies ordered the seafood paella (regular size), salmon lemon cream pasta, tuna cutlet, three desserts, and drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and it was full by 8 PM. The paella, being their signature dish, was visually appealing and flavorful with a bold seasoning. Personally, I loved the tuna cutlet, which I don't see often at other restaurants, and the crispy apple pie. I would definitely visit again.

I dined at Wolpタス Tokyo Station Granroof on July 11, 2024 (Thursday). It's a popular Spanish-Italian restaurant located right next to the Yaesu South Exit of JR Tokyo Station. The restaurant has a glass facade and features both counter and table seating. The clientele is diverse, ranging from young to old, and I even saw some foreigners. Western music was playing in the background. The staff's friendly and courteous service was also a plus. I ordered the Paella Course, which includes a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option and costs ¥7,600 (including tax). The appetizer platter included bruschetta, cod roe potato salad, Spanish omelet, chicken breast with orange sauce, mini tomatoes and mozzarella, duck, and salmon. The duck was smoked, giving it a nice aroma, and the Spanish omelet was fluffy. The cod roe potato salad was creamy, with a crunchy cucumber and a nice spicy kick from the cod roe. The chicken breast with orange sauce had a sweet sauce, and the chicken breast was bland but tender. The olive oil salad featured prosciutto, olives, lettuce, mizuna, croutons, onions, and nuts, all drizzled with a refreshing, tangy dressing. The steamed sea bream was delicate but thick, fluffy, tender, and complemented by a refreshing, tangy sauce. The Hokkaido-produced Kamui pork roast came with potato fries. The pork was tender, thick, and had a nice crisp bite. The fat was sweet and flavorful. The mayonnaise-based sauce also enhanced the flavor. The paella ingredients included mussels, scallops, clams, large prawns, squid, and bell peppers. The rice was cooked al dente and had a rich seafood broth. The large prawns were substantial, and the crispy rice crust was delicious. For dessert, I had pistachio ice cream. It was cool, sweet, and had a nice nutty pistachio flavor. It was absolutely delicious.

We visited on the last day of the three-day weekend in January, on the evening of Coming of Age Day. There were three of us, all men, and we were very satisfied. The prosciutto and paella were both delicious, exceeding our expectations. The location is a bit tricky, being in a kind of passageway near Yaesu South Exit, but it's definitely worth a visit.

On a Saturday in July, I had lunch with a friend from college. The restaurant was bustling with a mix of people, including families of foreign tourists with suitcases, groups of mothers with their friends, and couples. The age range seemed a bit older. The restaurant was almost full. I enjoyed the blue crab pasta lunch (with soup and salad). The service staff was energetic and friendly. While the lack of partitions in the restaurant meant that conversations and laughter echoed throughout, making it a bit noisy, I still give it four stars for the delicious food, the bright staff, and its convenient location.
