This cafe is run by Bunkido, the company famous for their "Castella Ichiban!" commercial. The first floor is a shop, and the second floor is the cafe. The interior is clean and comfortable, with a white theme. You can add a little dessert set to your drink for an extra ¥700. This time, I chose the Castella Fruit Sandwich and the Old-Fashioned Pudding a la Mode. Bunkido's Castella Fruit Sandwich was a huge hit for a while and was sold out everywhere. The pudding in the Pudding a la Mode is firm and delicious. The food also looked delicious, so I want to go back again!

Known for its catchy jingle "Castella is number one, phone is number two, 3 o'clock snack is Bunkido!" and its famous castella cakes, Bunkido Cafe is a popular spot. Expect a queue when you visit, so booking a reservation is highly recommended! ▶︎Freshly Baked "Mikasa" Pancakes These Japanese-style pancakes are made with the same dough as Bunkido's "Mikasa-yama" dorayaki (a sweet bean paste filled bun) and feature a cute branded imprint. They're cooked to order, so you can enjoy them piping hot. While they're fluffy, they're more like a firm dorayaki skin with a crispy exterior. ▶︎Castella Fruit Sandwich This sandwich features a moist, slightly sweet castella cake layered with a light, yogurt-infused cream and seasonal fruits, like oranges. 🍊 ▶︎Ginza Bunkido's Hayashi Rice This traditional Bunkido recipe features a rich and flavorful gravy with a hint of red wine. 🍷 ▶︎Bunkido Curry This curry is packed with spices and has a subtle sweetness, perhaps from fruit? The accompanying pickled vegetables were also delicious. (๑>◡<๑)

The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the cafe menu was extensive. As expected of a Bunmeido, the French castella was delicious. Since many people seem to meet here before going to the Kabuki-za Theatre, it was relatively empty after 6 PM. The staff's smiles were lovely, which is a crucial factor in making me want to return. Even though they were busy, their kind smiles made me feel happy and uplifted. It's amazing how a simple smile can make such a difference! ✨

After my hair appointment on April 24, 2024, I visited Ginza Bunmeido Higashi-Ginza. I ordered the "Potted Matcha Tiramisu." For my drink, I chose green tea from the options of coffee, tea, and green tea. The matcha tiramisu came in a pot, with a light, fragrant matcha aroma. It was filled with smooth mascarpone cream, matcha sponge cake, and red bean paste at the bottom, making it delicious. It was topped with fruit, bite-sized jelly, vanilla ice cream, and a firm baumkuchen. I was happy they served the green tea in a pot. The store has large windows, making it bright and beautiful. They accept PayPay. Thank you for the delicious meal. #HigashiGinzaGourmet #HigashiGinzaCafe #HigashiGinzaLunch #HigashiGinza #Ginza #GinzaCafe #JapaneseCafe #GinzaBunmeidoHigashiGinza #GinzaBunmeido #BunmeidoCafe #Bunmeido #MatchaTiramisu #MatchaLover

A unique experience only at Bunkindo! Castella + Menu Located in Higashi-Ginza, along Harumi-dori, next to the Kabuki-za Theatre. This is Bunkindo's cafe, famous for its castella and Mikasa-yama dorayaki. The first floor is a retail space with castella, seasonal varieties, Kabuki-za branded castella, Mikasa-yama, Japanese sweets, and jellies. The cafe is on the second floor. One of its unique features is the ability to make reservations in advance. You can confirm your reservation by phone the day before. I visited on a day before a long weekend, and all the reserved seats were full, so I arrived earlier than my scheduled time. It was past 4 pm on a weekday. I wrote my name on the waiting list with four other groups, totaling over 10 people, and waited for about 10 minutes before being seated. Since it's next to the Kabuki-za Theatre, it was bustling with female customers who seemed to be there after watching a Kabuki performance. The menu offers a variety of options depending on the time of day, including parfaits, lunch, and desserts. Coffee + Mini Dessert Coffee is ¥900, but ¥500 for the second cup onwards, which is very reasonable. American coffee, espresso, and tea are also ¥900. The Little Sweets Set is ¥700 in addition to your drink and includes: - Castella sandwich - Parfait - Mikasa-yama pancakes True to Bunkindo's style, instead of bread, they use castella, and the freshly baked Mikasa-yama pancakes are also made with castella! I was impressed by their unique menu. Open from 10 am to 7 pm, last order is 6:30 pm, so the closing time is early. For some reason, the number of customers suddenly decreased around 6 pm.
