I was excited to try this restaurant, known for its authentic paella, a popular dish in Spain. Located on the third floor of Stream, it boasts a beautiful, open space with large windows and high ceilings. Lunch on weekends is only available as a set course, which includes tapas, salad, fried potatoes, paella, cheesecake, and a drink. It was a bit much, but overall, I was satisfied. The paella is cooked individually, so it takes some time, but it was served at a good pace and was delicious.
A very popular restaurant located on the 3rd floor of Shibuya Stream. XIRINGUITO Escriba (Chiringuito Escriba), a restaurant known for its paella, has its main branch in Barcelona, Spain. It's a very popular restaurant where you can enjoy the authentic flavors of Spain in Japan. By 7 pm, it was completely full, not a single seat available! The restaurant was bustling with activity. Inside, the rows of paella pots were impressive. The interior is refreshingly designed with blue as the main color, and the sofas are comfortable. While it's a restaurant in a commercial building, it lacks a certain stylishness, but this place is very stylish. Today, I had the course menu. ◯ Airbag "Purebred Iberian Pork Ham and Crispy Bread" From the start, it was amazing. The bottom was crispy bread, and the top was generously topped with Iberian pork. The crispy bread was topped with plenty of Iberian pork, and the fatty Iberian pork melted in your mouth. ◯ 3 Types of Tapas Fresh Mushroom Salad Marinated Tuna and Rich Avocado Guacamole Squid Ink Fritters with Tonnato Sauce The fresh mushroom salad with its tangy flavor was exquisite. The crisp, fresh mushrooms had a good bite and were crunchy. ◯ Trout Salmon Marinade Herb Vinaigrette ◯ Patatas Bravas "Fried Potatoes" With Bravas and Aioli Sauce This aioli sauce was delicious! ◯ Mushroom and Shrimp Ajillo The sizzling mushrooms and plump shrimp. This is what ajillo is all about. Even the oil was delicious. ◯ Choice of Paella I chose the seafood and chicken mix, as it was the most popular paella. It's a classic mix. The large paella pot, enough for two people, was exciting. Located on the 3rd floor of Shibuya Stream, with excellent access from the station, and a stylish interior, it's perfect for dates or girls' nights out.
A Spanish restaurant serving authentic paella located in Shibuya Stream. I went there after they renovated their menu and interior to be more casual on April 11, 2024! -・-・-・-・-・-・- Course Menu ☑ Iberian Pork Ham and Air Bag ☑ Fresh Mushroom Salad ☑ Seafood and Kitaakari White Wine Marinade ☑ Trout Salmon and Micro Celery ☑ Octopus in Ink Sauce ☑ Patatas Bravas Fried Potatoes with Bravas and Aioli Sauce ☑ Mushroom and Shrimp Ajillo ☑ Choice of Paella - Mix ☑ Dessert - Basque-style Cheesecake ☑ Cafe Iberian Pork Ham and Air Bag -・-・-・-・-・-・- This course allows you to enjoy not only the main paella but also three types of tapas, warm dishes, and dessert. You can choose from 12 different tapas when ordering a la carte. It's hard to choose! Here are some of my personal favorites. The Fresh Mushroom Salad is a combination of thinly sliced salad, Comte cheese, and a touch of acidity from wine vinegar. The refreshing taste and the crunchy texture of the mushrooms are great. Above all, it's visually stunning, and it's a shame to ruin it. The Octopus in Ink Sauce is completely black, so much so that it's hard to even take a picture of it, haha. The ink is so rich and flavorful. The octopus has a great texture, and the ink coats it perfectly. I couldn't resist eating it, even though my teeth were turning black. I ordered the Mix for the paella. You can also choose Escriba or Squid Ink for an additional fee. This paella is a true paella, inheriting the taste of restaurants in Barcelona. The Mix is a dish that allows you to enjoy a variety of ingredients, including red shrimp and other seafood, chicken, salsiccia, and mushrooms. The rich seafood broth permeates every grain of rice, making it a truly blissful experience. I thought it might be too much, but I devoured it. The renovation added an S size, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy a smaller portion or try different flavors. The drinks menu boasts over 70 options. You can enjoy everything from classics to Spanish wines and sangria. When I asked the staff for a recommendation, they suggested an orange wine, saying it would go well with the paella! The interior is decorated in blue tones with marble tables, giving it a similar atmosphere to the main branch. The counter lined with drinks and the elegant tables create an ambiance suitable for both casual dining and celebrations. Thank you for the meal.
XIRINGUITO Escribà, a beloved Spanish restaurant in Barcelona, Spain, for over 25 years, has finally made its way to Japan. Their first location in Shibuya Stream underwent a renovation this year. The restaurant evokes the atmosphere of their beachfront flagship store with its blue accents and open space featuring marble tables. Their signature paella, renowned as "Barcelona's No. 1," is made with the original recipe, offering an authentic taste of Spain. You can choose from three sizes to suit your occasion and group size. The tapas menu has been expanded with 12 new additions, including Iberico ham, ceviche, and fresh mushroom salad. The drink selection boasts over 70 options, ranging from wine and craft beer to sangria. The homemade cocktails are even supervised by the famous Music Bar, making their quality undeniable.
Friday night reservation at 8pm. The interior is cute, but the tables for two are so close to the neighboring tables that it's hard to relax. You can hear everything they're saying, which is embarrassing. It was crowded around 8pm, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. It took a while for our order to be taken. The food... the ceviche was good. I was surprised to see the same menu items as a popular restaurant, though. They call themselves a Spanish restaurant with the best paella in the world, but I'm not sure about that. I had the black ink paella, and it was so salty, I was shocked. Maybe it was just the black ink that was bad? The appetizers were small portions, just right for two people. It's good that it's close to Shibuya Station, but it's in a restaurant in a commercial building, so it's not a place to relax and enjoy a meal. It's good for a quick drink and a meet-up.
