This Chinese restaurant in Shibuya has been my go-to spot ever since I started working here. For lunch, I ordered my usual, the fried rice. It's cooked with lard, resulting in a moist yet slightly fluffy texture. The flavor is classic, with just the right amount of saltiness, umami, and sauce. It's a simple dish with fluffy eggs, char siu pork, and scallions. The crunchy pickled vegetables add a nice textural contrast. The accompanying soup is clear and has a ginger kick, which perfectly cuts through the richness of the fried rice. It's absolutely amazing! No matter how many new or delicious places I try, I always find myself coming back here. Fried Rice (¥650) Large Portion (+¥100)
I had the famous fried rice at "Ramen King Korakuen Honten" in Shibuya. While it looks simple, the presence of the egg is striking, and its savory flavor stands out in the simple seasoning. It's often served in a large portion, which can be surprising, but the amount of oil is just right, making it light and easy to eat. At 570 yen, it's a steal, offering great value for a delicious fried rice in Shibuya. It's also unique in that the flavor changes depending on the time of day, with a lighter seasoning during the day and a more punchy flavor at night. This fried rice, reflecting the chef's personality, truly embodies the saying "It's just fried rice, but it's so much more." If you're in the mood for Chinese food in Shibuya, be sure to try the fried rice at "Ramen King Korakuen Honten." This dish, with its varying flavors depending on the time of day, is sure to exceed your expectations.
Located on a corner amidst the bustling restaurants near Inokashira Line Nishiguchi Station in Shibuya, this classic Chinese eatery is always open. Though it prominently displays 'Ramen King,' the actual name of the establishment is 'Raku Honpo.' It's a convenient spot for those seeking set meals like stir-fried vegetables. Such places are rare in Shibuya. The rice is slightly firm and served in generous portions. They've recently implemented a ticket machine outside. Set meals include pork and vegetable, liver and chive, miso pork and vegetable, and mapo tofu. There are also combination sets with dumplings. The pork and vegetable dish features mainly pork belly, cabbage, and bean sprouts, with a touch of carrot and chives. It's a practical choice when craving vegetables. The seasoned chefs are a testament to the restaurant's reliable status as a neighborhood eatery. 3.6
## Restaurant Name Ramen King, Gora Kuromiya ## Location Shibuya Station ## Budget ¥1,000 - ¥1,999 ## Ordered Menu - Fried Rice - Gyoza ----- I was in Shibuya for an errand after work on a weekday evening, around 7 pm. I hadn't been there in a while. I wanted a light meal before my errand. It's about a 5-minute walk from the Hachiko statue in front of JR Shibuya Station. The closest entrance is the Inokashira Line entrance of Mark City, which is about a 1-2 minute walk from there (depending on the crowd). It's near the pachinko parlor in front of Mark City, and there are many restaurants in the area. It's a typical Chinese restaurant with a traditional, old-fashioned atmosphere from the outside. Inside, there are a few counter seats and two 4-person tables. It was full, probably because of the time of day, but I was lucky to get a table without waiting. There are two ticket machines, one outside and one inside the store, so please use them. I ordered the above items. ▼ Fried Rice The fried rice was full of burnt bits, lol. It's an oily type with a strong pepper flavor, a real 'tough guy' fried rice. I saw them making it, and they were just burning it on purpose, which was kind of funny, lol. It's made with simple ingredients like eggs and green onions, and the flavor is spicy with salt and pepper. The burnt bits add a unique flavor. Some people might really like it, lol. There's definitely room for improvement, like using more Chinese broth or adding another half an egg to coat it. The gyoza was just average, so I'm not going to review it. The best thing about it was the ingredients! That's all. That's it. It's a shame that the famous Chinese restaurants in Shibuya, like Cho Rak nearby, aren't that good. I'll have to explore more. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back. ※ Please like and save this post!
A 24-hour Chinese restaurant located on Dogenzaka in Shibuya. The old-fashioned ticket machine is inside the restaurant, while outside there is a ticket machine that accepts electronic money, QR codes, and credit cards. Prices start at 600 yen, with set meals starting at 800 yen. The service is very fast, with the ginger pork coming out in about 2 minutes and the fried rice in about 4 minutes. Founded in 1972, the restaurant's origins are not in Shibuya but in Shinjuku, where it started as a standing soba noodle shop near the Koma Theater. The restaurant's name is "Ramen King," but the most popular dish is the fried rice. Ordering fried rice and a side dish is a good combination.
