Despite making a reservation for 17:00 the previous day, the restaurant seemed to have no record of it. I was worried that our important business dinner after the meeting would be ruined, but thankfully it was still early enough so we were fine. We hadn't made a reservation, but we ordered a course meal anyway. They had an all-you-can-drink option, but since some of us couldn't drink, we switched to ordering individual dishes. The food was luxurious, and the view of Tokyo Station was breathtaking. The sashimi platter had thick slices. The simmered fish was a choose-your-own-adventure style, where they brought a selection of fish to our table. On this day, they had hairtail, amberjack, black rockfish, red sea bream, flounder, and many other varieties. The ability to choose your own fish was a nice touch. This place is perfect for fish lovers, but the course meal has a lot of dishes, so ordering a la carte might be a better option. We were all stuffed! The staff gave me a bit of a feeling of unease, and I could really feel the staff shortage, but the food was all delicious. The course meal had a lot of dishes, and we couldn't finish the rice with sea bream, so they made it into onigiri (rice balls) for us to take home. Thank you for the delicious meal.
It used to be in Ginza, with a great atmosphere, and I used to go there often, but it closed down. It reopened in KITTE in Marunouchi, so I started going there, but it just wasn't the same. Today, I went there for the first time in a while after making a reservation. The tempura set, sashimi set, grilled fish, simmered fish, and tempura rice bowl were all gone. The menu had changed, and there were fewer options, and the prices were also higher. The appetizer was a salad and homemade tofu, which were delicious. The tempura, sashimi, and simmered fish came out one after another, even though I hadn't finished the previous dish. The tempura was okay, the sashimi was not very good, and the simmered fish was delicious, but the sauce was too much and it splashed everywhere if you weren't careful. The rice and pickles were absolutely delicious. Now for the main point. At the end, the rice, pickles, and miso soup came out, but they were placed on the left side of the table! I pointed it out, and they placed it vertically. That's not right! The soup bowl should be placed on the right side. I tried to explain this, but they didn't seem to understand. Is there no one at this supposedly Japanese restaurant who can teach them proper etiquette? I will never go back there again.
I had the grilled fish set meal. It was quite average for an upscale izakaya lunch. I wouldn't actively seek to come back, but I wouldn't leave feeling disappointed either. The cost performance shouldn't be questioned in this area, as it's located in a redeveloped building. It's likely that the rent is extremely high, resulting in poor value for money.
Located on the 6th floor of KITTE, right in front of JR Tokyo Station, this restaurant offers stunning views of Tokyo Station and the surrounding cityscape. The scenery is particularly beautiful at night, with its glittering lights. ✨ The food is all made with carefully selected ingredients, and I especially enjoyed the black sea bream simmered in soy sauce, which had a wonderful texture. For dessert, I ordered the famous sea bream rice, but be aware that it takes quite a while to prepare, so it's best to order it early. If you can't finish your sea bream rice, they'll happily pack it up for you to take home. They even package it carefully for takeout. You can pay with credit cards and other methods.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for celebratory occasions. While the food is delicious, the terrible service from one particular staff member completely ruined the experience. We had a reservation but were seated 20 minutes late. We specifically requested a non-sofa seat, but were still led to a sofa table, making the reservation pointless. The food was placed on the table with a loud bang, and the staff tried to clear plates while food was still on them. We were served dessert ice cream while everyone still had two dishes on the table, and no tea was offered with the dessert. At the exact closing time, we were coldly told, "It's past closing time, so please leave." This went beyond anger and made me feel sad. As this restaurant is located in a prominent building at the gateway to Japan, many people visit with high expectations. For the sake of their reputation, they need to seriously improve their customer service training.
