Today's spot: Rokurinsha Ueno Branch. Whenever I'm in Tokyo on business, I make it a point to visit at least one restaurant for lunch and dinner during my stay. This time, I got off at Ueno and was feeling a little peckish. I spotted a ramen shop specializing in tsukemen (dipping noodles) that looked delicious. My greedy nature got the better of me, and I ordered the limited-time double dipping noodles. With two different soups, I also went for a large portion of noodles. I was excited! There were a variety of seasonings and flavor-enhancing condiments! It was all so refined, and my anticipation grew. The soup had a spicy kick, while the classic soup was packed with fish powder. This was a luxurious experience! The 1700 yen price tag was worth it! It was truly delicious! The flavor changes were divine! I felt like I had hit the jackpot. The large portion was even larger than I expected, and the generous service was amazing. My stomach was about to burst, so be careful if you're having lunch! If you're looking for a hearty meal and have a big appetite, this is the place for you! You absolutely must go! Go alone!

I recently enjoyed a delicious bowl of tsukemen at Rokurinsha in Ueno. I was excited to enter the restaurant, my expectations high. I purchased a ticket from the vending machine and took a seat. Soon after, the tsukemen arrived, and its visual impact was incredible! The thick noodles were coated in a rich dipping sauce with a strong seafood flavor. The noodles were firm and had a chewy texture that was simply irresistible. The soup was rich but surprisingly light on the palate, making it easy to eat multiple bowls. I particularly loved the thickness and tenderness of the chashu pork. It was incredibly satisfying, filling my mouth with the delicious flavor of meat. Dipping the noodles into the sauce created a symphony of flavors, with the rich soup clinging to the noodles and bringing a sense of happiness with each bite. I savored every last drop. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant! Atmosphere: The restaurant had a lively atmosphere, typical of a ramen shop. It had both counter and table seating, making it comfortable for both solo diners and groups. Service: The staff was efficient and friendly, making for a pleasant experience. Ordering was smooth, allowing me to enjoy my meal without any stress. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu next time. Reasons for Repeat: Rokurinsha's tsukemen is unforgettable. The combination of the rich soup and thick noodles is simply divine. The chashu pork is also exceptional, with its thickness and tenderness allowing you to fully appreciate the flavor of the meat.

As a fan of rich tsukemen, this was a place I had to try. I visited on a weekday around noon and there was a line of 4-5 people. It took about 15 minutes to be seated. I was led to the ticket machine and chose the regular size ajitama tsukemen. I was then shown to a counter seat. I thought it would take a while for the thick noodles to be served, but they came out in about 3 minutes. I dipped the chewy noodles into the broth and took a bite. It was delicious! The broth was super rich with pork bone and chicken bone, but you could also taste the fish flavors of mackerel and bonito. The ajitama (soft-boiled egg) was perfectly seasoned and the yolk was runny. It was as good as everyone said, and I finished the broth in no time. If this place was near my home, I would definitely be a regular. I'm so glad I came! I'll be back.

I visited around 2 pm on Obon, and there were about 4 groups waiting in line. The line was shorter than the two ramen shops nearby, and I was able to enter in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Ajitama Tsukemen with extra seaweed. New bills are not yet accepted, so it's best to bring old bills if you go. I've been a fan of the Tokyo Station branch for several years, and this was my first time back at Rokurinsha in a while. The taste was just as delicious as I remembered. It's rich but not too heavy, making it a great choice for women. You can add fish powder to your liking. Even the regular size has a lot of noodles, and I felt bad leaving some behind... I wish they had a smaller size. I finished with a refreshing yuzu-flavored soup broth. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

I went to the restaurant on August 12th (Monday) at around 9:00 PM, having heard that their tsukemen (dipping noodles) were delicious. I was lucky with the timing and was seated immediately. Thank you for the courteous service. I ordered the Ajitama Tsukemen (noodle dish with a marinated egg). The flavor was strongly influenced by seafood. The person next to me added fish powder, so I followed suit. The fish powder reminded me of the fish broth used in Shizuoka Oden (a type of hot pot) at Tenjinya. The noodles were cold, and the soup was hot, which was a new experience for me. The noodles felt more like udon (thick wheat flour noodles) than ramen. On August 16th (Friday), I found the restaurant while looking for souvenirs at Tokyo Station, but there was a long line.
