Exceptional Creative Kushiage! A Luxurious Course Featuring 10 Skewers with 10 Different Sauces I visited "Kushiage Ichiikawa" in Kinshicho. This restaurant is known for its creative kushiage enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere, and I experienced their 10-skewer course with 10 different sauces. The stylish counter seating was perfect for a business dinner. ◎ Good Points ● Creative Kushiage Enjoyed with a Variety of Sauces At "Kushiage Ichiikawa," 10 different sauces are provided, allowing you to choose the perfect sauce for each skewer. For example, I enjoyed the white shrimp with shiso leaves with a refreshing salt, and the asparagus wrapped in pork with tartar sauce. The batter on each skewer was thin, allowing me to enjoy the crispy texture. The firefly squid and wagyu beef with egg yolk skewers were particularly delicious, showcasing the natural flavors of the ingredients. ● Well-Balanced Course Menu The 10-skewer course includes three types of appetizers, a baby leaf salad, and a palate cleanser of Kishu Nanko ume (Japanese plums). The refreshing flavors between skewers were a nice touch, making the overall balance excellent. The appetizers, such as the cream cheese miso marinade and burdock with balsamic vinegar, were also delicious and heightened my anticipation. ● Reasonable Pricing The quality of this 5,000 yen course is incredibly cost-effective. Additionally, the beef tongue with scallions and fried bread that I ordered as extras were also reasonably priced. Each kushiage was meticulously prepared, providing a sense of satisfaction beyond the price. ● Stylish and Relaxed Atmosphere The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, and the counter seats have dividers, allowing you to enjoy your meal while maintaining privacy. The ability to watch the cooking process from the counter is another appealing aspect. The staff's service was calm yet attentive, creating a comfortable space. △ Other Points ▲ Fried Bread I ordered fried bread as an extra, but it felt a bit heavy to eat at the end of the meal. ☆ Summary "Kushiage Ichiikawa" is a fantastic restaurant that offers creative kushiage enjoyed with 10 different sauces. The 5,000 yen course is packed with content and offers excellent value for money. You can enjoy meticulously prepared kushiage in a relaxed atmosphere.
I enjoyed the 10-skewer Kushiage course for ¥5,000, and added a beef tongue with scallions for ¥650 and deep-fried bread for ¥400. The 10-skewer course includes three appetizers (cream cheese marinated in miso, burdock with balsamic vinegar, and broad beans) and palate cleansers (baby leaf salad, spinach with soy sauce, etc.). This time, I sat at the counter facing the kitchen and watched the chefs prepare the food. Their meticulousness was truly impressive. The batter was incredibly fine and evenly applied. The deliciousness of the food is undoubtedly a result of this meticulousness. Everything was delicious, but my personal favorites from this course were the castle princess shrimp wrapped in shiso, chicken tsukune wrapped in fried tofu, and Wagyu beef with egg yolk (a note for my next order!). The classic asparagus wrapped in meat was also a delight, as they cut off the tough ends, allowing you to enjoy the entire piece. If I had to mention something I noticed, it would be that the deep-fried bread, while delicious, had a bit of oil seeping through the cuts, making it feel a bit heavy to eat at the end of the meal. Overall, every skewer was incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. I definitely want to visit again.

This was my first visit. The food was all very delicious and easy to eat, even with light clothing. We were a group of three with a reservation, so we were seated at a table in the back, but the counter was full quickly, so I felt that reservations were essential. The atmosphere was great, and I would definitely like to visit again.
Located in Kinshicho, "Echikawa" is a hidden gem of a kushiage (deep-fried skewer) restaurant. I had been wanting to visit for a long time, so I was lucky to get a reservation on the day! While I was a little disappointed that I couldn't sit at the counter due to scheduling with other reservations, they informed me beforehand, so it wasn't a problem at all. ♡ 【10-Skewer Kushiage Course】¥5,000 ✳︎ = palate cleanser ✳︎ Appetizer (Cream cheese, burdock root marinated in balsamic vinegar, boiled peanuts) - Pork belly - Ginkgo nuts - Saury - Asparagus wrapped in bacon ✳︎ Baby leaf salad - Prosciutto and cheese - Chicken tsukune (meatball) wrapped in fried tofu ✳︎ Seryo (watercress) with soy sauce or Kishu Nanko Ume (pickled plum) - Tarako (cod roe) and mochi (rice cake) wrapped in nori seaweed - Wagyu beef and egg yolk - Pork tenderloin and eggplant - Yellowtail marinated in soy sauce 【A la Carte】※ Added - Fried bread They have 10 different dipping sauces served on leaf-shaped plates, and they recommend the best sauce for each skewer. ❤︎ The course itself was more than enough, but I absolutely had to have fried bread (my favorite), so I ordered it a la carte. ✌︎ It was absolutely delicious.
