I made a reservation and came here. The place is frequented by regulars and foreigners. They only have one type of sake. The selection of snacks is also limited. I ordered the following: - Broiled conger eel (穴子の白焼き) - ¥1,649 - Salted squid (いかの塩辛) - ¥916 - Pickled radish (板わさ) - ¥995 - Thick egg omelet (玉子厚焼き) - ¥995 - Duck seiro (鴨せいろう) - ¥2,473 - Fried ginkgo nuts (揚げ銀杏) - ¥834 Drinks: - Plum wine on the rocks (ロックのみ) - Kikusui (菊正宗)

I visited on a Friday night. I enjoyed a selection of "soba-mae" (pre-soba snacks) with draft beer and Kikumasamune Mizore sake, including "itawasa" (kamaboko with wasabi), "aiyaki" (grilled duck), "tennuki" (tempura without noodles), and "seiro soba" (buckwheat noodles). Itawasa: This is a dish of kamaboko from Suzuhiro, served with fresh wasabi. It's a sophisticated snack, but the taste and texture were average. Aiyaki: This is a small piece of duck, grilled to a crispy perfection. It has a nice texture with a good amount of chewiness, and the grilled flavor and fat are delicious. Tennuki: This is a warm soba dish with shrimp tempura, but without the noodles. It makes you feel like a soba connoisseur. The shrimp tempura was absolutely delicious. Seiro Soba: The soba was made with a 2:8 ratio of buckwheat to wheat flour, but unfortunately, I don't remember the flavor or texture because I had too much sake. I'll have to try it again. Kikumasamune Mizore Sake: This is a sake sorbet, and it's a dangerous combination of refreshing and delicious. It goes down too easily. This was my first time trying soba-mae, and I overdid it with the sake. However, the atmosphere of this long-established soba restaurant and the sophisticated selection of snacks combined to create a truly satisfying experience. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and considerate, making the entire soba-mae experience a pleasure. Thank you for the delicious meal! ✨🙇✨

I arrived 30 minutes before opening on Sunday and there was already a line! It's definitely a popular spot. The line kept getting longer and longer. I was seated on the second floor during the first round, which was great. The interior has a calm and clean atmosphere, befitting a long-established restaurant. The seiro looked a bit small, so I ordered a large portion. I'll try something different next time.

Ueno Yabu Soba Having explored various places, my stomach was rumbling with delight. It was a Saturday afternoon, perfect for savoring the Edomae soba culture. Incidentally, the chopstick rest is my favorite, which I bought last week at Ginza Natsu no (Summer) - my personal chopstick rest. (Visited on October 10, 2020)

A renowned establishment, Ueno Yabu Soba. The food was excellent, the service and atmosphere were top-notch, and the prices were quite reasonable. Around 5 pm, even on a Saturday, there was no wait. The broiled conger eel, roasted seaweed, and egg were particularly delicious! The roasted seaweed had charcoal underneath the box, which enhanced its aroma. The soba noodles were made with a 2:8 ratio of buckwheat to wheat flour. The soba dipping sauce was incredibly flavorful. We ordered a bit too much for a pre-soba snack, and ended up drinking and eating a lot, spending 25,000 yen for two people. We stayed too long, which was a bit gauche. We were far from being stylish.
