A delicious and affordable treat near my daughters' extracurricular activities! A follower mentioned their baumkuchen, so I asked my husband to pick some up while the girls were in class. (*´∇`*) Thank you! I saw a sign mentioning discounted "end pieces" but they were out of stock that day. I ended up getting the "Otokubaum Hole Chocolate", "Vanilla", and a few others. We enjoyed them at home. The chocolate one was dense and had a firm texture. It was moist and flavorful, with a rich chocolate taste that wasn't overly sweet. ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ The vanilla was also moist and had a simple, wholesome flavor that I could easily eat every day. The prices were very reasonable and made it a great value. I actually prefer this baumkuchen to the ones you find in famous department stores! (〃ω〃) They also have individual portions and stick-type options, which would make great gifts. I'll definitely be back to buy more when we run out! Thank you for the delicious treat!

Located across from Kinshi Park, on the corner where Tokyo East Shinkin Bank's Kinshicho branch is, just past Yotsume-dori street, you'll find this factory direct store. There's no eat-in option, only takeout. I got an applekuchen and a stickkuchen. The texture was moist and had a nice weight to it, with a sweetness that was just right. It doesn't have any particularly impactful personality, but it's the kind of sweet that you always want to have on hand, something everyone loves. There's a wide variety of choices at reasonable prices. Perfect for personal use or as a gift. Highly recommended.

I recently purchased the most basic vanilla baumkuchen. I had high expectations since it was a direct sales outlet, but the selection wasn't very extensive and the prices were fairly high. The staff didn't offer any explanations about the products, and the customer service was lackluster. Perhaps the selection improves at different times of the day, but I doubt I'll be returning.

Located in Kinshicho, 'Nyuuto Seika,' famous for its 'Shitamachi Baumkuchen,' has a factory outlet. On weekends, they sell various 'Shitamachi Baumkuchen' scraps and outlet items. On weekdays, they mainly sell outlet items, and upon order, they provide them directly from the factory. This time, I bought an outlet 'Jumbo Kuchen' for 648 yen. The moist texture and subtly sweet flavor of the Baumkuchen are delicious enough to satisfy both adults and children. The lack of excessive packaging, typical of Shitamachi, makes it a great value. It's more suitable for home consumption than as a gift.

The direct sales outlet for "Shitamachi Baumkuchen" (a type of German cake popular in Japan). Sometimes, they have discounted items, but it's not always clear which ones are the discounted ones. If you go early in the morning, they have a variety of Baumkuchen. They also have a super cheap Baumkuchen made from the end pieces. The taste is the same, so I buy it often. Sometimes I buy a lot for friends. Since I started coming here, I've become a huge fan of Baumkuchen. I can't eat it all by myself, so I cut it up and freeze it. It's still delicious even frozen!
