We were looking for a place to have dinner with the family and found this restaurant. We were checking it out from the outside when we were approached and told we could eat there, so we went in. As expected, the atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and we shared the pure liver, motsu stew, and horse mackerel fry set meal, which was delicious, affordable, and enjoyable.
The flavors are quite strong. The grilled offal is large and delicious, but I'd like to have something lighter too. The 'downtown highball' doesn't seem to get you drunk no matter how many you have (you know what I mean). It's an old place, but the interior is very clean.
I've been coming here for several years now 🥰 Even on weekdays, there are times when it's packed! I always make reservations for Fridays and Saturdays. It's affordable, delicious, and I always enjoy chatting with the friendly staff 😌 I especially love the pure liver, nikotama, and grilled liver ☺️
Be mindful of the motsu (offal) dishes you choose. This is an old-established izakaya (Japanese pub). It seems to be known for its motsu dishes and was featured in the drama "Hinekure Onna no Bocchi Meshi" (A Twisted Woman's Solo Meal). First, a bottle of beer (≧∇≦*)(🍺•᎑•🍺) 600 yen excluding tax. Classic lager ( ゚д゚)ンマッ!(/◎\)ゴクゴクッ・・・ Recommended aburi reba (grilled liver) 680 yen excluding tax, and gatsu negi (pork belly with scallions) 680 yen excluding tax. They switched from tax-included to tax-excluded in August, so it's 10% more expensive (o^^o) Here it comes, it looks delicious → bite → salty (´゚ω゚`) The aburi reba has a salty flavor with a garlic-infused sauce. The gatsu negi has a spicy bean paste flavor, cucumber 🥒, and a good texture from the pork belly, but it's also salty. ┌(_ー_ ;┌ )┐ムムム・・・ What to do... The alcohol is going down well, but... let's see the menu. The aburi reba can be neutralized with the scallions, but the gatsu negi... There are set meals, but I came here to drink, so I don't want rice... Is there anything, anything that can neutralize the saltiness... Ah, there it is. Cold tofu 380 yen excluding tax. This is a good choice. It's silken tofu with plenty of shaved bonito flakes. It's definitely going to be delicious. I resist the urge to add soy sauce and take three of the six cut blocks and mix them with the gatsu negi → bite → ( ゚д゚)ンマッ! This is good, the best. I couldn't help but order two cups of sake, hot. It goes so well... I also ordered an assortment of six skewers with sauce 600 yen excluding tax. Liver, white, kasira (pork cheek), heart, tongue. The sauce has a perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness. Seven spice, mustard, they go well ( ˙꒳˙ ) delicious. ...Why was it so salty? In the end, I had a well-balanced drinking experience. Next time, I'll try: Abri reba → jun reba (pure liver) Gatsu negi → gatsu sashi (pork belly sashimi) Motsu yaki (grilled offal) and motsu ni (offal stew), And cold tofu is a must ( *´꒳`*)ヨキヨキ The rating is just okay.
The shop owners, both the man and the woman, are quick and efficient, giving off a real 'Edo-style' vibe that's really refreshing! The menu seems to be mostly fried food, but the salt-grilled mackerel was delicious!
