This is a shop where my mother often buys taiyaki (fish-shaped pastry) and agemanju (fried bun). I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, when it was over 35 degrees Celsius and very hot. I only stayed for about 15 minutes, but customers were constantly coming in. I wanted to have some cold matcha and taiyaki, but I ended up ordering shaved ice (Uji matcha). It was delicious with plenty of red beans and a nice bitterness from the matcha, but there were no tables, so it was hard to eat. I accidentally dropped some of it on the floor, haha. Maybe taiyaki is the best option for a quick bite here.
This taiyaki shop has six locations, mainly in Tokyo. It's located right across the street from the elevator at the exit of the Hibiya Line Tsukiji Station, heading towards Kita-Senju. You can either take your order out or eat in, but this time I bought it to eat as a snack at home. They baked it after I ordered. There weren't many other customers, so the wait wasn't that long. I ate both the red bean and cream-filled taiyaki with crispy edges at home, and both were not too sweet and I devoured them. The 'crispy edges' became soft when I microwaved them at home, so I wonder how they would have been if I had eaten them on the spot. Next time, I'll eat inside instead of taking it out. They accept PayPay. There was also a clean restroom.
Drawn in by the delicious aroma, I enjoyed some "Hatsu-kitai Yaki" (feather-shaped pastry) for takeout at this place. It was around 4 PM on a weekday, and there were about 5 people waiting. The pastry was freshly baked, with a crispy feather-like texture and a savory aroma. The red bean paste filling had a perfect sweetness and a pleasant texture, making it a truly delicious treat.
I bought red bean paste and sweet potato paste. There are benches inside the store where you can eat. They also have other sweets like fried dough pastries, strawberry mochi, and arrowroot mochi. If you toast it slightly in a toaster after taking it home, the outside becomes crispy and delicious. It's not too sweet and easy to eat, but I thought it was a bit pricey for a taiyaki.
The taiyaki was delicious. The sweetness and amount of red bean paste were just right, making it easy to eat. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas for eating in. There are also restrooms and a handwashing area, which were very clean. The seats were all filled with people, creating a nice atmosphere. I bought some karinto manju as a souvenir.
