This is a delightful wagashi shop! I'm a big fan of dorayaki and kurimanju, and the "kurimanju" flag fluttering in the wind caught my eye. I stopped by on my way back from the Museum of Contemporary Art. The classic Fukagawa dorayaki and kurimanju, as well as the "nyangyohime sakura-an dorayaki" I bought on a whim, were all incredibly delicious.

While walking, I stumbled upon a super cute character-shaped dorayaki! I saw a review mentioning apricot uiro, and I missed out! I'll have to stop by next time I'm in the area. I went back for the apricot uiro, but unfortunately, it was sold out. 😔 So, I tried the mitarashi dango instead, and wow, it was delicious! 💯 The first bite had a slightly strong fish broth flavor from the mitarashi sauce, which made me go 'hmm,' but the mochi was incredibly soft and smooth, unlike anything I've ever tasted before. It was perfectly cooked and coated in the sauce. 🍡 It was absolutely divine! 😍✨🌟 I called ahead and reserved some apricot uiro for 200 yen. It had a strong sourness, ゞ(`'), and was a truly unique uiro.

Taken on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Enjoying a sesame daifuku (¥150). The mochi, infused with white sesame seeds, encases a sweet bean paste filling. A generous amount of white powder coats the surface to prevent the mochi from sticking to the transparent sheet. Be careful when removing the sesame daifuku, as the powder can easily get on your clothes or belongings. Please be mindful of this.

While walking, I stumbled upon some discounted mitarashi dango in front of a shop! I bought a pack of two. As the shopkeeper mentioned, they use a special sauce with a strong kombu flavor. It's a bit different from the typical mitarashi dango, with a savory dashi taste rather than just sweet sugar and soy sauce. The mochi is chewy and soft. Even though it was a discounted item, it wasn't dry or stuck to the skewer, and I enjoyed it very much.

A Japanese confectionery shop in Kiyosumi Shirakawa. I visited because I was curious about their apricot uiro. I never knew apricot and uiro could be such a perfect match! The flower petal mochi was also delicious with its refined sweetness!
