I was craving their morning set, so I rushed over and arrived at the cafe at 10:50 am. It said they served it until 11 am, and when I sat down, the morning menu was on the table, so I was happy thinking, "I made it!" But I couldn't order it. The people sitting diagonally in front of me were having the morning set, so I was really disappointed. 😭 **Conclusion:** Although it's not a limited quantity, if they run out of what they prepared for the day, it's a no-go even before 11 am! It's best to go with plenty of time to spare. But... thanks to that? The ochazuke I ordered was absolutely delicious!! ❣️❣️ The broth was amazing! I even finished it off as tea 🍵 at the end. Be sure to check out the souvenir corner. I found a little treat for myself there. ❤️
I came to Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple Cafe for breakfast. Besides porridge and miso soup, there are 18 different side dishes. It's very healthy and delicious! ◆ Order 18-Dish Breakfast 2,200 yen According to the 48 vows of Amida Buddha, the principal image of Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple, the 18th vow is "I will never abandon you." The "18-Dish Breakfast" was created in honor of this vow. I enjoyed the porridge with kelp, cod roe, pickled plums, and other toppings. The side dishes included egg rolls, tofu, roasted duck, and more, providing a satisfying meal. Each dish was delicately flavored and delicious. For dessert, there was orange and matcha jelly. The menu was well-thought-out and satisfying. I was also happy that the porridge was refillable. The tea was also special! You can choose between hot and cold tea, and the green tea was so delicious. I fell in love with the beautiful, clear green tea. ◆ Location 1 minute walk from Tsukiji Station Located on the grounds of Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple, the cafe is on the left side of the main gate. ◆ Interior Very spacious and open It's usually crowded even on weekdays, so it's best to make a reservation if possible. It looks like it will be a very fulfilling day, starting with a visit to Tsukiji Hongan-ji Temple in the morning and a healthy and delicious breakfast!
This cafe is located inside the Tsukiji Honganji Temple. It's a great place to stop in when you're tired from walking, and its convenient location right by the entrance makes it perfect for meeting up with someone. The high ceilings create a spacious and quiet atmosphere, making it easy to have a conversation without your voice echoing. The matcha latte was not overly sweet, and it truly tasted like real matcha! It was a refined flavor that you wouldn't find at your average cafe. I'd be surprised if I got the same thing at a cafe in the city, but somehow it felt fitting to savor it in the serene atmosphere of Tsukiji Honganji Temple (laughs). The cute little bird spoon rest was also a nice touch. I'm definitely going to try their luxurious 18-item breakfast next time!
It's hard to get a reservation, but I've been there twice. There's a parking lot, so that's reassuring. The rice porridge is refillable, but there are so many side dishes that I got full. Many of the dishes are available at the Tsukiji Outer Market, so if you like something, it's worth checking out the market. The tea they served was also delicious, and the souvenir corner was quite stylish, so I ended up making an impulse purchase. The Hongan-ji Temple is also beautifully built, and I was mesmerized by it. I'd like to take my friends who haven't been there yet if I can get a reservation again.
I went to a restaurant that serves 18 different breakfast items. It has a vegetarian-style feel, but they also offer meat and egg omelets. The flavors aren't overly strong, but the porridge, which you can refill as much as you like, was very satisfying. The tea served with the meal can be refilled with hot water upon request. I had warm tea this time, but the cold tea looked delicious too. I made a reservation for early morning, and the restaurant was almost full. It was a bit unfortunate that the staff seemed overwhelmed and the noise level was a bit high due to the acoustics, but the food definitely gave me a boost to start my day. I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit.
