I stopped by Clematis for a post-lunch coffee. This time, I shared the original blend coffee and lemon chiffon cake with a friend. Even I, who've recently become a coffee-averse person, found it delicious. The coffee cups were made by renowned Japanese kilns, and it was a treat for the eyes to see them used so generously. This is a cafe I definitely want to revisit when I come to Tsukiji again.
A cozy cafe opened last October in the space previously occupied by a deli and bento shop. They offer a variety of treats, including chiffon cake, gateau chocolat, and toast.
A friend who's a real foodie told me about a charming new cafe that opened in Tsukiji in October, so I decided to check it out. The entrance is a bit hard to spot, but the cafe is long and narrow, with a lot of depth. It's beautifully decorated in white, creating a clean and tranquil atmosphere. It's absolutely lovely! The cafe is located near the Tsukiji intersection, and it was quite crowded when I arrived around 3:00 PM, close to the end of the year. I managed to snag the last seat. The menu features: * Drip coffee * Tea * Cafe au lait * Juice * Beer And for sweets: * Chiffon cake * Gateau chocolat * Coffee jelly * Butter toast and an-butter toast Most drinks are priced between ¥700 and ¥800. There are special deals if you order a drink and a dessert together. Since I was having dinner later, I just ordered a drink. I went with the Marco Polo tea. It was served in a beautiful cup. While it wasn't a pot service, the portion was generous. The tea was fragrant and delicious. I was so happy to find a place where I could enjoy my favorite Marco Polo! As I was looking around the cafe, I noticed a mysterious door. It was so stylish that I couldn't tell it was the restroom entrance at first! The staff were incredibly kind. Talking to them was so soothing. It's no wonder this place is so popular even though it's only been open a short while. I'm so glad there's a lovely cafe in Tsukiji now. Next time, I'm definitely going to try the chiffon cake!
The white curtains hanging along the street convey the shop's cleanliness. The name 'Kissa' (喫茶) suggests a strong sense of dedication. Stepping inside and sitting at the wooden counter, I was greeted by a William Morris wallpaper on the wall! The coffee itself was beautifully smooth and free of any bitterness. The bread from Pelican was a welcome treat. The wooden chairs were comfortable, making it easy to linger. I hope the clematis in the planter outside blooms soon.
The interior features large white walls adorned with floral-motif wall lamps, creating a simple yet elegant and clean atmosphere that is incredibly comfortable. I only ordered coffee this time, but it was a refreshingly delicious drip coffee, meticulously brewed. Next time, I plan to try their selection of specialty teas and homemade chiffon cake.
