A Delicious Yakitori Experience at a Long-Standing Restaurant

5.0

I recently visited "Yakitori Miyagawa," a long-established restaurant founded in 1949, located on the first floor of Toyosu Foresia near Toyosu Station, with my colleagues. Even on a Monday, the place was bustling with company employees and foreign tourists, always packed. We ordered "Muteki," a Miyagawa original sake recommended by the staff. It was crisp, clean, and had a smooth finish, making it incredibly delicious. My colleague had booked a course with an all-you-can-drink option, allowing us to enjoy a full yakitori course. The yakitori was, of course, delicious, but the three-piece appetizer featuring chicken breast was incredibly tender and flavorful. The curry-flavored potato salad was another favorite. Next came the Miyagawa specialty, white karaage (fried chicken). The large karaage came in two varieties, breast and thigh, each with a different juicy texture. They were refreshing with a ponzu sauce and paired perfectly with the sake. The yakitori kept coming, each piece bursting with juicy flavor. The expert grilling skills of this long-established restaurant were evident in the perfect doneness of every piece. For the finale, we had the option of ramen or zosui (rice porridge), and we chose the zosui, which was incredibly delicious. We also enjoyed the variety of flavors offered by the restaurant's original seven-spice blend and green chili powder. With the end of the year approaching, I inquired about the possibility of using the restaurant for a year-end party. They informed me that they can accommodate up to 96 people. Apparently, reservations fill up quickly every year-end, so it's best to book early.

I always see a line at Kayabacho and never get in, but I happened to see it in Toyosu so I went in. I ordered the white karaage set. It's a style where you eat it with dipping sauce, the karaage was very filling and delicious. However, it was a bit greasier than I expected. You can get refills on rice, the grated yam with seaweed is very delicious with a great aroma.

The yakitori is incredibly delicious. I recommend going early. The menu is generally extensive, and the chicken porridge and ramen are perfect for finishing your meal.

This yakitori restaurant is amazing, everything is delicious. It's definitely the best in the Toyosu area. However, the prices have definitely gone up. I remember their lunch used to be 1000 yen, but now it's 1300 yen. It's still delicious, but a bit pricey.
