This bakery is located on the underground floor of Roppongi Midtown. It's a well-known chain, and I see it everywhere these days. I stopped by on a whim and saw some Halloween-themed bread, so I bought some as a seasonal treat. The chestnut Danish was delicious, but it was a bit too much for one person to eat by themselves.
This bakery is located in the basement of Tokyo Midtown, directly connected to Roppongi Station. They have stores in various locations, and I always see them in convenient spots. I came here on a Sunday evening to buy some bread for the next day. Even in the evening, the selection of bread was not diminished at all, and freshly baked loaves were constantly being added to the shelves. It's truly impressive. I was torn between so many delicious options, but I ended up choosing the freshly baked dark chocolate and hazelnut Ekmek and the Fougasses with jalapeño and bacon. They were 380 yen and 460 yen each. The jalapeño one definitely had jalapeños scattered throughout, and it had a good kick. While it was spicy, the flavor itself wasn't overwhelming, so it was more about the natural taste of the dough and the jalapeños. The chocolate one had a good amount of hazelnuts, giving it a nice texture. The bread itself was chewy and not overly sweet, making it delicious. I could really feel the gluten in this one.
The variety of breads is impressive and they look delicious. Personally, I love breads with fruit, but I felt there were a bit fewer of those. The prices are a bit high, but considering the current economic climate and the location, it might be reasonable. If I bought two breads and a drink, I could probably get a full meal at a nearby restaurant. It's all a matter of perspective, I guess.
This is a high-end bakery. The bread is chewy and delicious, but it costs around ¥400 per piece. The croissants are also crispy. On weekdays, they offer a set menu for ¥900 that includes a sandwich, drink, and baked goods.
I absolutely love the baguettes here. Of all the Maison Kayser locations, I have a particular fondness for the one in Tokyo Midtown. (I'm a bit of a baguette enthusiast, haha!) It's fantastic that they offer freshly baked baguettes even at night. This time, I tried something new: * Matcha and Yuzu Bread (¥324) This savory bread combines matcha, which has become a standard in France, with refreshing slices of yuzu. It was delicious! When you cut into it, you see a beautiful green from the matcha. It's the kind of bread you want to put on your table. It's a fusion of French and Japanese flavors. I'm so happy to have this kind of bread in my everyday life. The whole wheat bread was also excellent, with a nice toasty aroma and a chewy texture. Thank you for the delicious meal!
