Freshly baked bread, all you can eat, even at night! Western-style food at Kimuraya! Located a one-minute walk from Ginza Station, I visited "Youshoku Grill Kimuraya." You can find it on the 3rd floor, accessed by the elevator located behind the Kimuraya bakery shop. I arrived around 5 pm on a Sunday and there was no wait. I was able to enter right away. Since the bread is all you can eat, I ordered the "Small Shrimp Macaroni Gratin" for ¥2,090, which I thought would go well with the bread. The bread is brought to your table by a staff member. I chose from a basket of cheese bread, olive bread, white bread, and an anpan without the red bean paste. The bread was definitely delicious. The gratin was served in about 10 minutes. There were more small shrimp than I expected, and the rich béchamel sauce and macaroni were well-combined and delicious. It was also delicious to eat with the bread. The bread was replenished occasionally, so I ate more than I expected. I was full, but I enjoyed it until the very end.
Although it was a weekday, it was still quite crowded around lunchtime, and we had to wait a bit for a table. For lunch, I had the beef stew and crab cream croquette set, which came with a salad. Both the stew and the croquettes were delicious, with a classic Western-style flavor. And the bread buffet was a welcome surprise! They brought the bread to our table, so we couldn't resist indulging. As expected from Kimuraya, the bread was absolutely delicious! Despite being in the heart of Ginza, the atmosphere was relaxed and unpretentious, and I left feeling very satisfied. The Kimuraya bakery is on the first floor, the cafe is on the second floor, this grill is on the third floor, and there's a French restaurant on the fourth floor. It seems like the prices go up as you go higher, and I'm definitely interested in trying the French restaurant sometime. I went back again and had the roast beef lunch this time. It was delicious too!
I previously visited around noon and there was a wait of over an hour, so I decided to try again. This time, I arrived at 11:20 am on a weekday and the place was already full with four groups waiting. I registered my name and the number of people in my party at the reception and waited along the stairs leading from the entrance on the third floor to the fourth floor. After a 40-minute wait, we were seated. The interior has a bright atmosphere, though it's a bit old. It was almost entirely filled with women. They bring around a basket of bread and whipped butter, so you can enjoy bread whenever you like. There were about seven different types, all of which looked very delicious. I ordered the beef stew and hamburger plate. The hamburger sauce had a very fresh vegetable flavor that was delicious. The beef stew was a bit salty for my taste, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
The famous Kimuraya bread buffet! I went there with excitement. I arrived around 11:45 am and wrote my name down. I was seated within 30 minutes. The turnover rate is incredibly fast, so I don't think you'll have to wait too long. All the menu items come with a bread buffet. The bread itself, while served incredibly quickly, was unfortunately cold. The selection was also fixed. There were some unique options like vegetable bread and raisin bread, as well as simple baguettes, but none of them were to my taste. The bread wasn't freshly baked and brought out, but rather replenished from a large stock kept in a drawer. It was a bit dry, which was disappointing. I noticed that no one was staying for long, and the turnover rate was high. I wondered why, but perhaps it was because there wasn't enough bread to keep people there. As a bread lover, I was honestly disappointed.
The all-you-can-eat bread was like a never-ending bowl of *wanko soba*, with fresh batches constantly being brought out. While I wished for warm bread, the cold, chewy texture was surprisingly delicious. The croquettes were tasty, but they seemed smaller than they appeared in the menu photos.
