This is a sushi restaurant located at the entrance of the Tsukiji Outer Market, a place that could be considered the origin of sushi. 🍣 It's a great place to grab a quick bite while standing. I ordered the chef's recommendation, and then when the menu was updated, I placed another order. That day, I enjoyed the Okame-style sushi with a side of chopped wasabi. 🉐 After a delicious and affordable sushi meal, I headed off to buy some souvenirs!
The Sunrise Izumo, the train I was supposed to take, was canceled the day before and the day before that due to a cold wave. While my daily actions aren't always the best, the train was running smoothly on this day and I arrived at Tokyo Station. From there, I made my way to Tsukiji for the first time in four years. It had been a while, so I decided to explore first. All the popular shops had long lines, but I stumbled upon a sushi restaurant that caught my eye. I hadn't even bookmarked it beforehand, but after looking it up, I found out it was a pretty popular place. I arrived just before opening time, a little early, but the chef welcomed me warmly. He led me to the counter, and I ordered this menu: ★ Flatfish - ¥400 ★ Tuna - ¥300 ★ Sardine - ¥300 ★ Horse Mackerel - ¥400 ★ Conger Eel - ¥400 Of course, I was planning on eating more that day, so I decided to quickly try some of the ingredients that caught my eye. The flatfish was perfectly aged, the tuna, while not the most appealing in color, was rich and flavorful. The fatty sardines were lightly grilled, and the horse mackerel was fresh and incredibly delicious. The conger eel was cooked to a fluffy texture, and the sweet sauce was the perfect finishing touch, making me crave alcohol. In about 10 minutes, I quickly enjoyed five pieces of Edomae sushi. This is what Edomae is all about. The chef was kind and attentive, and I enjoyed the experience. Thank you for the meal.
You can enjoy delicious sushi quickly at this standing sushi bar. I asked the staff for recommendations and they were very helpful! The sushi was made with incredible skill and was delicious.
Located right at the entrance of the Tsukiji Outer Market, easily accessible from Tsukiji Station on the Metro. The shop is quite small, with room for only 5-6 people at a time. However, they offer high-quality sushi at reasonable prices. Grab a few pieces to get your appetite going before exploring the Outer Market!
Saturday, September 2023, 10:40 AM. There were four standing seats and a 20-minute wait for two groups. The chef was working alone. The tuna rare cuts (jaw, cheek, and brain) for 800 yen were incredibly delicious. The tuna recommendation (lean, medium fatty, fatty, seared, and minced tuna) for 1800 yen was amazing! This is a place I'd definitely return to.
