I had the dim sum lunch set (¥3795) and chose the Mapo Tofu. The portion was so large that I was already 80% full before the Mapo Tofu even arrived… But the soup and appetizers were delicious. It would be great if you could add a smaller portion, around ¥3000, to your reservation-only courses, as it would be a shame to waste the food. I arrived for lunch on a weekday at a little past noon. I had a reservation, but the restaurant was full, so I had to wait 40 minutes before being seated. Reservations are definitely necessary at this restaurant. The Mapo Tofu was delicious and lived up to my expectations. It was the best Mapo Tofu I've ever had. What makes it different from others? It's just so good. I definitely want to come back and try other dishes. Given the high price, it would have been nice if they offered Chinese tea instead of plain water.

This authentic Sichuan restaurant is located in the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. I ordered the Mapo Tofu from the service lunch menu. The deep savory flavor was unlike anything I've tasted before. The spiciness was just right, not as intense as I expected. It was a generous portion, and I was happy to see that rice refills were available. I enjoyed the taste of Chef Chen Jianyi's cooking! Unlike other Sichuan restaurants, the interior is dynamic with a red and black color scheme, befitting a hotel restaurant. The theatrical display of the kitchen behind bamboo forest-inspired decorations is fun. Even at the counter, which is perfect for solo diners, you can relax and enjoy yourself without getting bored.

The taste of Sichuan Restaurant, passed down through generations by Chen Jianmin, Chen Jianyi, and Chen Jiantaro. At this Shibuya Chen, the third generation, Chen Jiantaro, adds new elements to the traditional flavors, offering modern Sichuan cuisine in a refined atmosphere. I visited for lunch and had the Mapo Tofu and Seafood Yakisoba. While I prefer the Mapo Tofu at Akasaka Sichuan Restaurant, this one was also authentic and delicious. I was surprised by the Seafood Yakisoba. It used thicker noodles than those typically used, and the texture and flavor were excellent. The seafood sauce was made with high-quality ingredients and had a perfect balance of flavors, making it a truly exceptional dish. The soup and dessert were also of high quality, and I suspect that everything on the menu is delicious. I'm looking forward to trying the fried rice next time.

Chen's famous restaurant!^_^ The basic flavors are delicious, and the hotel is nice, so the interior is beautiful and luxurious!🥹 To be picky, I wish the staff would check on the tea and water levels more often. Since the place was full, I'm sure there were staff members who could see. It's a bit of a minus point that I had to call out to them repeatedly.🙇

Chen Jian Yi's Sichuan Chinese restaurant, located on the 2nd floor of the Cerulean Tower in Shibuya. Their mapo tofu is famous, and the mapo tofu lunch, without dessert, costs ¥2,277, making it quite expensive. However, unlike the mapo tofu at other restaurants, this one is packed with minced meat, and the tofu is shaped elegantly and beautifully. As expected for the price, it is very delicious. The spiciness is also refined, with a tingling numbness that is addictive. Overall, it was incredibly delicious.
