We enjoyed the Arabian Lunch Course for ¥4950. It offered a variety of dishes in small portions, which initially seemed like a small amount, but we ended up feeling full. There were some unique dishes we had never tasted before, but everything was delicious. We also requested a birthday plate, which featured a cheesecake topped with dried flowers. It was perfectly aligned with the restaurant's ambiance and very cute. The online reservation page mentioned a 90-minute dining time, but we were able to enjoy our meal leisurely without feeling rushed.
We made a reservation for 3 people at 6:30 PM on Wednesday. The restaurant was busy, and while there weren't many staff, it was a bit inconvenient to get their attention at times. Overall, the service was good. The food and beer were delicious. The clientele wasn't noisy, which made it easy to have a conversation with our group.
I went with high expectations, but it was far below them. I chose the lamb and pomegranate tagine, but the pomegranate was just a garnish, and the lamb was just soft meat stewed in some kind of sauce. It didn't taste like orange. The moussaka was decent, but I think it would be better cold (I've actually bought their side dishes at the Yokohama and Shibuya Food Shows). The meat plate was okay, just meat. The potatoes were ordinary with a little seasoning. The only thing that felt Arabian was the dessert. But the mozzarella inside was just plain mozzarella. The coffee had a cardamom flavor, but you could probably make it at home. It's been a few years, so it's hard to review, but I've been to a few Moroccan restaurants in Setagaya-ku and Turkish restaurants in Shinjuku and Akasaka, and this place is far below their level, yet everything is expensive. The clientele is either affluent adults or foreigners. Looking around the restaurants in Scramble Square, I realized that the places with young people crowded around them must be the good ones. The staff seemed hesitant with foreigners, not talking much, but the regular Japanese people who came later were very friendly. The atmosphere isn't romantic at all. There's just some Arabian music playing. I'm not sure if it's halal or not, it's probably just a casual halal, not certified (true halal requires the chef to be certified). I've been searching all over Tokyo for halal food for work, so I think this place is for Japanese people. Don't casually call it halal. If you want to try real Arabian food, go to a Moroccan or Turkish restaurant first.
The restaurant's atmosphere is great, and I love all the flavorful dishes packed with spices! They also have vegan options, making it perfect for entertaining international guests. For dinner, I recommend the a la carte Zoroaster Curry or the Beef and Dates Tagine. My friend tried the Tunisian wine in the picture and said it was delicious.
It's located on the 12th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square. It's one of my favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is absolutely delicious. I don't think there's another place with such a wonderful Arabian ambiance and such delicious food. The authentic cuisine is truly impressive. I always try something new from the dessert menu whenever it changes, and I'm always amazed. Thank you for the meal. I'll definitely be back.
