I went to the card lounge at Narita Airport Terminal 2 and found a kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant across from it. It was Genzo Sushi, which also has a location at Haneda Airport. You can enjoy a variety of sushi at reasonable prices, starting from around 100 yen per plate. I recommend the honmaguro (bluefin tuna), madai (red sea bream), and hamachi (yellowtail), and for something different, the tsubugai mayo (whelk with mayonnaise) is a good choice.

I visited this restaurant for lunch while at the Second Terminal. (I usually eat sushi at chain conveyor belt sushi restaurants or occasionally at individual shops.) * It was helpful that I was seated immediately, likely due to it being past 1 pm on a weekday. * The restaurant wasn't very spacious, so it felt a bit cramped. * One of the male staff members had a loud voice, and some of his comments to other staff members were not appropriate to be heard by customers. It made me feel uncomfortable. (The customers weren't very loud, so the staff's voices were more noticeable.) * Some of the sushi was falling apart and didn't look very appealing, which was disappointing. * As others have mentioned, I was surprised to find that some of the plates I casually picked up were over 500 yen. It's best to pay attention to the prices to avoid being surprised at the checkout. * They also offer sushi that isn't on the conveyor belt, and they will prepare it for you if you request it. This allows you to take your time and choose carefully. * The miso soup was surprisingly large and tasted good. It was a good choice.

I believe this is the most affordable place to get sushi inside the airport. You can order directly from the chef and have them prepare your sushi, and they can even make it without rice. On this particular day, there weren't many other customers, so I was able to have a nice chat with the chef. ☆

Visited on January 4, 2024 at 9:30 AM: Despite having an afternoon flight, my wife and I, being a bit on the frugal side, arrived in the morning. We decided to have a leisurely breakfast and headed straight in. It's a bit sad that we're having beer with our rice, but that's just how we roll. To be honest, we were a bit intimidated by the high prices of many restaurants we saw before coming here. We thought, 'At least we can have a good time with just the pickled ginger at a conveyor belt sushi place...' and decided to give it a try. We took our time, savoring the dishes as they went by, and even enjoyed some sake. It was a luxurious way to start the day. We are truly grateful.

The quality is simply unacceptable. The sushi on the conveyor belt is incredibly dry, beyond just slightly dry. It's so dry it feels malicious. I'm amazed they even put it out there. It's a shame for a revolving sushi restaurant located at Japan's gateway. What will customers who come here with excitement think when they eat this? At least those who see this post should consider other options. I ate a few plates and left. The portions are small and the freshness is questionable. You'd think revolving sushi restaurants would be good wherever you go, right? I'm sorry, I can't recommend this place. I regret coming here for the first time. The service is good. They're friendly. Please put that energy into the food instead.
