I initially went to the main Sushi Dai, but it was closed for a break, so I wandered around and ended up here. Tsukiji Market felt like it was overpriced for tourists, but this place offered good quality for the price, and it felt like a casual sushi spot. There were three groups ahead of me, so I waited a little over 30 minutes. Since it’s a standing sushi bar, the turnover was quite fast, and I was able to enjoy a satisfying, authentic Japanese-style meal.

A must-visit! This popular and affordable standing sushi restaurant requires a wait. I waited for about an hour and a half before being seated. The system involves writing your name on a piece of paper and waiting to be called. The space is not exactly spacious, but it's bustling with energy. You can order both sushi and appetizers. The food was so delicious that I ended up ordering a lot. It was a bit late, so some items were sold out, but I was still very satisfied. The staff was also very friendly and efficient, quickly preparing orders even in the midst of the crowd. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. There were also quite a few customers who just ordered the sushi sets without alcohol, so the turnover rate is good. I've added this to my list of places I want to revisit.

The quality of the sushi is commensurate with the price. The chefs are friendly and helpful, making it a great option for a quick sushi meal. They are also very kind to foreign customers. It's much better than the overpriced sushi restaurants in the outer market of Tsukiji.

I recently visited Tsukiji's Sushi Cho for the first time in a while during the latter half of Golden Week. Although they open at 11:15 AM, I knew it would be crowded, so I arrived a little early at 10:45 AM. There were already many names on the waiting list, and it took about an hour and a half before we could get a table. Once inside, I quenched my thirst with a beer and enjoyed some engawa, mackerel, marinated tuna, and sardines. Then, I ordered a Junmai Ginjo sake from Niigata and continued with clams, seared tuna, seared golden sea bream, squid tentacles, medium fatty tuna, conger eel, spotted squid, and fatty tuna. Finally, I finished with my favorite, a hand-rolled tuna tataki. The ingredients were delicious, the sake was excellent, and the value for money was unbeatable. It's a no-frills standing sushi restaurant that I highly recommend!

I arrived 10 minutes before opening on a weekday and there were about 7 groups ahead of me. I wasn't able to get in on the first round, so I waited about 30 minutes from opening. This time I ordered the "Nishiki" lunch set! Everything was fresh and delicious. It's around 1200 yen, so it's a real bargain! The dishes come out gradually, so you'll be eating while more items are added. That's why some things aren't in the photo 😅 The chef is a kind person, so you can feel free to order anything!
